[3.2] "Classical" Mjolner by Rico

So i really want to try this build but like others i don't know whether to do the Inq or Jug version of the build. Is it strictly down to whether you like lightning strike/molten strike vs cyclone? Is Inq better dps but less safe while jugg is slower but you almost never die? Thanks in advance.

Well its not quite like that.

Lets assume that tankiness=1 is a glass cannon that get one shoted every map, while tankiness=10 is a build that can die once per galactic cycle or once from lvl 90 to lvl 100 (as this is somewhat equaly long time right now :P).

Jugg's tankiness no RF = 9 with RF = 7.5

Inquisitor's with Inya's setup tankiness = 8

Inquisitor's with The Red Trails tankiness = 6.5

Now lets assume that clear speed=1 is a lvl 1 character trying to clear T15 map while clear speed=10 is a build that finishes map after 2 head scratches with remaining monsters less than 20 (or about 2 minutes per map).

Jugg's clear speed = 7

Inquisitor's with Inya's setup clear speed = 8

Inquisitor's with The Red Trails clear speed = 8.5

And finally let us assume that boss DPS=1 is a lvl 1 character trying to kill Uber Atziri while boss DPS=10 is 5 sec T16 Minotaur kill time.

Jugg's boss DPS with RF up = 7.5 (or about 36sec Mino kill time) while no RF = 5.5

Inquisitor's with Inya's setup boss DPS without RF up = 6 (or about 51sec Mino kill time)

Inquisitor's with The Red Trails boss DPS without RF up = 7 (or about 41sec Mino kill time)

Now all together:

Tankiness | Clear Speed | Boss DPS |

Juggernaut (with RF): 7.5 | 7 | 7.5 |

Inquisitor with Inyas (no RF): 8.5 | 8 | 6 |

Inquisitor with The Red Trails (no RF): 6.5 | 8.5 | 7 |

Jugg no RF: 9 | 7 | 5.5

Hope that helps ;)

Some questions:
-Is the additional accuracy gem necessary? Can it be replaced with the lightning strike gem, thus freeing up the slots in repentance.
-Why do you use 2 immortal calls?
-What is increased cooldown recovery?
Thanks.

Mmm, you must take a look at your tooltip accuracy for both LS and MS. LS should be 80%+, MS 85%+

If u can have those numbers without add accuracy than yes. You may join LS with MS in a 6 link setup this way, but some additional points in tree might be neeeded to spent into accuracy nodes (like Precision).

Second high lvl immortal call setup is used to cast manually to activate Arcane Surge buff. This way it works for over 30 secounds (wait for max endu charges and cast immortal call).

Increased cooldown recovery gear reduced cooldown timer on Discharge. On default theres 250 ms cooldown on Discharge or 4 Discharges per sec cap.

With ICDR gear you can reduce that up to 207 ms (20% CDR belt) or to almost 5 Discharges / s.

Currently leveling up this build (level 38 now).

I definitely like what I'm seeing in the guide. I've banked away about 16ex to blow on a build that's more "interactive" than my Bleed / Leech Claw Gladiator which spammed nothing but Blade Flurry all the way up to T12. Because of all the mechanics at work, and the clever use of Uniques, I've pulled the trigger on this one.

Because I'm only level 38 ATM, was there ever an issue meeting the requirements (STR & INT) for Mjolnir AT 60 or 61? I'm following your Keystone guide a few posts back to the letter, but haven't done any math. Just wondering so I know when I can splurge and buy all the required gear.

Well if you dont do the math you will not know and neither do I. You will most likely need a gear support on that matter on that lvl but to know how much exactly you need - put your lvl 60-62 passive skill tree into a tool like poeplanner or PoB. The other thing to look at are also gems and theyr lvl requirements.

If I remember correctly I was able to switch into Mjolner gear at lvl 64. Which was just before the final campaign boss in my case.

Levelled with totems, transitioned at 63 with help of strength boots.

Such an awesome build that really means business. Thanks for the great guide!
Loving to build on Xbox! This may be a bit of a noob question, but why molten strike? Would Vigilant Strike be better used since it applies fortify and cannot be evaded, therefore freeing up those gems slots for something else like added fire/phys to lightn, element damage w. attacks? Again thank you for putting up this build and I will probably make it again next league barring any changes due to patches etc. Maybe as a starter build even!

Any melee skill on this build is just a trigger for Discharge. It doesnt make sense to scale dmg of your melee skil as this build is not designed for melee dmg. The only thing that matters with melee skills on this build is how often it hits. Lightning strike is great for packs as it travels far, has many pdojectiles and it chains. Every hit event, even after chaining, triggers Discharge and arc via Mjolner.

For single target theres currently nothing better than molten strike with gmp as both initial hit and every single molten strike ball triggers Discharge on contact.

Love this build. Always love all your Mjolner stuff. I hope the new Ascendancy changes don't mess this build up. Nice work.
