yes, thats the GG version. you need life on your jewels to make that version work. if you do not have double flat damage+life jewels, belly is worse than cloak.

i vaguely remember someone using point blank for absolute maximum poison dps for bosses but again wasnt sure if that would be preferable

decent build. your mana is a bit low. if you take a big hit, you'll run out of mana and not be able to get your mana/life back instantly because you do not have enough mana left to attack. therefor, you mana need to be at least 40% of your maximum hp. in your case, thats 1600 mana. this will improve your survivability!
maybe get some mana on boots or jewels!

snakebite wont work with volkuurs ;)
if you use skyforth, cloak would be a good idea for the mana value. skyforth is overall nice to have, but you might have problems getting enough resists. i think 2 abyssal bubonic trail should be better.
point blank does not work with poison after the 3.0 poison changes.
blind on hit jewels with the small blind chance are more than enough for high as quill rain builds. if you plan on using your mirrored bow, it might not work out that well. i'm not even sure if that bow is better than quill rain for this build.

I seemed to be dying most frequently to getting frozen. So I've started using a quicksilver of heat flask. Perhaps I missed something else though in my build that would better mitigate freezing? Any other suggestions improvements or tips appreciated.

With that amazing bow, you should check out what the Physical to Lightning Support gem would buy you. Of course then you'd have to switch to lightning from fire.

thats a great suggestion, it boosted my dps but i still have more dps with the signal fire as opposed to any other quiver. my bow damage breakdown is
50% of bow converts to lightning because phys to light support (+30% extra damage)
50% of bow phys converts to fire cuz signal fire (+27% extra damage)

so i think my dps is boosted because of both the +57% extra damage. idk how well this scales for poison.

100% chance to poison if i'm at max frenzy charge. i cant help but feel like these gloves are being overlooked because it says "attacks poison"
if "attacks poison" then wouldnt i be getting a translation of volks that would be "100% of attacks poison"? its not changing the build. im only changing the rate at which enemies are being poisoned XD

I feel like it hits a massive dps spike because now 100% of the time things are being poisoned as opposed to only 20% of the time. and these gloves are the pillar of the build.

im gonna try it because the last poison build I tried used those gloves as build enabling and i can ditch the despair for another defense aura.

just a thought, im not trashing the build im just theory crafting other viable opportunities

To get it to scale for poison you would need to convert your gloves to volkuur lightning gloves or use the snakebite. If snakebite then you'll need to make sure you have a good way to get frenzy charges or use the Pacifism jewel trick mentioned here https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Snakebite I'm really not very familiar with poison. This is my first poison build. Any here's what it says about poison.

So that would indicate that the physical to lightning gem would only be good with volkuurs. If going with snakebite then physical damage would be better.

edit: Note that a big advantage of volkuur over snakebite is that boosting elemental damage is very easy but boosting physical or chaos damage is relatively much harder.
