[3.x - Discontinued for now] Burning Spectres - Torch the Atlas - HC Shaper, Elder, Uber Atziri

Just got TV from Overgrown Ruin map
Thanks GGG. You want us to play with the spectres that "you" want and not the sprectres "we" want...Ok. Let me tell you that we invest in chromtics and support gems in our gear for specific sprectres. We cant play and enter a map with 100 chromatics and 100 differents supports in our bag. So 2 things. Turn this stupid patch back or make a passive skill that makes all the sockets for summoners white.

I just got a wickerman as well!
The monster spawn appears to be either random, or at least difficult to determine. I was able to summon Vanguards but not Wicker Men in my map, while Astrartea was able to summon Wicker Men, but not Vanguards in theirs.

Here's the weird part: Astrartea even had the Tukohama miniboss/tileset, which you'd think would guarantee the presence of Tukohama mobs...but, even in the boss room, they couldn't find any. Meanwhile, I do NOT have the Tukohama miniboss/tileset, but have no trouble finding Vanguards.

The takeaway appears to be that it will likely take multiple shaper sets (and thus potentially more than 1 ex worth of fragments depending on prices/luck) to fully summon your spectre set, unless you happen to find someone else with the mobs you need in their spawn.

So, spectre hunting has become potentially VERY expensive (or requiring a group effort), but we DO still have access to level 84 versions of our two variants...so, the build definitely isn't "dead", but it is somewhat restricted.

Edit: people elsewhere in the thread have confirmed that both Wicker Men and Tukohama's Vanguards can still be found in Overgrown Ruin, so that's a less expensive source of spectres if you're willing to settle for level 82s.

Prediction: people will start to sell access to level 84 spectres of desirable types.

Thanks guys, at least T15 spectres are enough and Overgrown Ruin maps are cheap enough that I can buy a dozen to stock my spectres <.<

And just got my first VG!
So what happens when someone is fighting shaper, and their specters die, and the specters are not on that maps desecrate table?! DO we just forfeit the run?! This change sucks, just make it where they upscale to match the instance lvl they are in for crying out loud!

On my golemancer I can suicide on the guardians, go smoke a cig, come back and collect all the loot...so what I gather here is that is fine, but god forbid getting spectres become less of a hair pulling annoyance...sigh
the funny thing is after i got my vgs i go for shaper kill and after 1-st phase on area with 'The uncreated' i got area with tukohama boys only, so maybe its just random, if u got pre-generated area with tukomahas somewhere on shaper realm - u can find it on portal area, otherwise - not

the problem is without wickerman this run not that smooth cause i lost my full geard AG (but didnt lose any of vgs thx god) because of fucking dischargers and poor aoe of vgs

Apparently, both Wicker Men and Tukohama's Vanguard are capable of spawning on Overgrown Ruin, it just might take a couple tries, and they probably won't be in the same mob set. If your spectres die on Shaper, you can leave the run, open Overgrown Ruin maps in the Templar Lab (so you don't lose your Shaper run) and get level 82 spectres before returning. I went to bed last night with Shaper's Realm open, and when I woke up, it was still there, so I'm assuming it never expires like other maps do (this is probably common knowledge, but I'm pretty new to the game).

I advise anyone not already running a Minion/Totem Resistance Support gem to add one to their build. It's simply too important to keep the Spectres alive. I was already running one, and I can attest I've never had a spectre die in Shaper's realm.
