I am trying out CwC Storm Burst and found that works pretty well. It replaces frostbolt I was using that had temp chains. Frostbolt had a cast time and sometimes got me stuck in a place I didnt want to be. Storm Burst is channeled so I can cancel always move immediately. Linked with Desecrate it creates corpses and Flesh Offering/Bone Offering to use them. I usually use flesh offering for fast map clear and switch it out with bone offering for difficult things, mainly t16 and higher. It's also a 4l instead of a 3l costing another valuable gem slot.

Sadly replacing curse on hit means we lose our curse but the main goal of frostbolt was just directing minons and telling them to obliterate things. Storm Burst probably does this easier then frostbolt/ball lightning. I replaced curse on hit by giving gloves with temp chains on hit to Bob (my AG). Bob is single target so its mainly for during bosses but everything else dies so fast anyway I don't really miss it.

Also wanted to say I am loving this build. I have unlocked the atlas and killed all guardians, Shaper, T15 elder and Uber Atziri with these great Spectre's using solar guards for mapping and 3 TV's, a Wicker and my AG for the rest. I didn't even use a shaped helmet, arguably the most expensive item right now. This is possibly one if the biggest DPS builds I have played.

Yesterday I decided to get creative and add some flame golems (and their 4 jewels, expensive!) to my setup. Just gmp+lvl21 golem right now but they fit the build perfect. My next upgrade will be a elder bone helmet (prefferable i83 base costing less then 15ex) to craft something that can houses some serious golems. I'm looking forward to it.

So I just respecced from a solar guard version to vanguards + bear scarecrow dude, in preparation to trying uber elder (I figured more single target dmg). Last league I easily cleared all content with SGs so I decided I might as well try a different version now after gaining some currency.

Besides the MASSIVE nerf to clear speed, i tried a T15 elder and I actually wasn't able to clear the unstable phase, shaper died during the 4th pillar thing. (easily did it previously with solar guards). This is not boding well for uber elder...

Any tips? it seems like I'm not able to melt fast enough the squid dudes due to totem targeting, and reposition fast enough to new areas.

My current gear is a bit trash, haven't reached max block yet (need better gloves w block, more reckless defence jewels, shaper amulet, or whatever) + i def need more hp & mana & mana regen for MoM, but survivability isn't the issue here, I'm super tanky.

I might consider going for 6L solar guards + 5L melee skellies in a hungry loop otherwise, that seems a pretty good spec too.

You can socket max lvl CWDT + Bone Offering and lvl1 CWDT + Desecrate to save you from bad situations, when you forget to cast bone offering.


Wouldn't cast on stun/block work better?

Good point! CWS also triggers when blocking the big hits, so it's better then the high level CWDT. Thanks for tip! :)

I'm currently playing this build with a 2 TV 1 WM setup. I'm at the point where i'm looking to upgrade from a tabula to a vis mortis. Unfortunately, i can only afford a 5L. Which of the sockets should i drop when transitioning to a 5L.

i use CWDT (lvl1) with Convocation (lvl1) for speed clears and shield charging (with fortify) through
enemies. if u havnt enought survivability - use Blasphemy + enfeeble
