Virtually all the damage from SGs comes from the initial hit, so immolate isn't what you want to buff.

Use Raise Spectre / GMP / Spell Echo / Elemental Focus.

So I'm halfway through Act 8. When I meet the Solar Guards, should I drop my vanguards to get 3x SGs to clear the rest of the game? Would they be better?

I have one of those Burning and Minion damage helms, and also a tabula. Trying to sort out my sockets now.

My gloves are zombies / minion damage / splash
My weapon is whirling / faster attacks
My shield is desecrate and flesh offering
My helm is cwd desecrate and cwd bone offering
My boots is BL with Curse on hit, gmp, and temp chains

Right now, on my chest, I have specters with Swift affliction, Minion Res, Minion Damage, Burning Damage, and flame golem

So what is the gem setup in the chest if you want to switch to 4 Solar Guards for fast low-mid level map farming?

No life or res support gem are needed, so put Controlled Destruction instead.

+1 To Gems. 20% Minion Damage is hardly noticeable. Since you are in reality already at more than 400% so its less than 5% gain...
I think he's talking about amulet corruptions, in which case +1 gems isn't an option.

I've tried both, dual curse and 20% increased minion damage, and honestly, I can't tell the difference. I'd buy whatever is cheaper. Or whatever you hit the jackpot and craft yourself first.


I have both corrupted The Anvil, for clearing maps I use Dual curse one but I wonder if I should swap to 20% one vs Guardians, Shaper, Uber. Thx

Actually, if you have one of the helms and a tabula, just switch to running one TV and two SGs. Put the TV in your helm, and the SGs in your chest.

Dump those gloves for rare ones with resists asap, and see if you can pick up a lioneyes shield. Swap 1 SG to TV when you need extra boss DPS. As soon as you can afford a 5L Vis Mortis, grab that and move to 2 each.

Guys, which is better to take the second curse for Tukohama? Vulnerability,Enfeeble, Elem. Weak. or Temp. Chains?

If you are in hardcore or like defence, run enfeeble and temp chains.

For straight up damage, take flammability and EW.

If you want to hedge your bets, take one of each - Flammability / Enfeeble. Or Temp Chains if you like the extra reaction time.

Bottom line, you really can't go wrong with any combination of those. Well, unless you try to cast them on Uber Atziri without a curse flask. ;)
