" ES gain on hit is great for clearing, you have to be more careful without it. It's not required at all, especially for the bosses. Without that jewel you just need to move out of the Shaper's beam instead of standing in it. And on the Guardians I didn't notice the effect at all at first. So it's a nice QoL jewel, but optional. |

New video: Red Tier Elder and Guardians (CI)
They are all pushovers even in the red tier. I've read that when the Elder spins up and drops caltorps he then does something similar to the Shaper Slam. I could probably handle that the same way as the Shaper Slam, but it's not worth it to bring special flasks just for that, easier to move away. And if you don't kill the adds and let them get the Shaper down, it goes faster, plus there is no explosion at the end. So why are we supposed to help the Shaper? So I've been playing this build since Elementalist days and the build is in a good place right now.
I'm level 89 right now so at this point I'm just tweaking/optimizing. I have about 8k energy shield, 1694 int and things are pretty comfortable. Two things. 1. For those who have a 6 link chest - what are people's favorite 6th link? Right now I'm using frost wall which is pretty comfortable with mobs as it pushes them off of me and blocks some projectiles. 2. What next? At level 89 I can expect to grind out 4 or 5 more levels. Any thoughts onto how to spend the last few points? 4 points to the extra curse. 3 points get another jewel. 2 points for unnatural calm. Just pick up more int? " Care to share your gear? I've transitioned to CI from life, but am struggling at 91 to get the mechanics down. 5kES is a wee bit short- DPS is fine- and it may be a mechanics issue. (player error..) Also, can we see Keyvlnn's CI gear in the front post? The combo details from life to CI are a bit confusing for me. Thanks! |

" Lol, no? I haven't seen anybody playing a tank build in HC recently. With all new content and unknown fights and bosses, there is a high chance that something will get you once in a while, unless you want to stay in easy maps. I haven't seen anybody actually tanking hard stuff in HC. Everybody there is either a necro dodging everything while your wicker men burn it, or fast dps with cat-like reflexes (and auto-logout scripts). Only try a tank if you are bored. " Nevermind that. Apparently Shaped Bog (T15) still counts as Yellow Tier. This didn't give me the red tier Elder challenge. I'll try to spawn him in a non-shaped red tier map next time. |

For those that asked, here is my gear. I had to spend some currency for the gear. Probably 10 ex total with the biggest outlay being the chest.
Before that I was rocking a 480 es chest that I bought for 8c.
