[3.5] For Scion - Dual Curse Crit. Based Blade Vortex as Elementalist + Assassin (SSF Viable)
In 2.6, I have a lot of fun playing in SSF (39 challenges cleared in SSF) and for 3.0, I have decided that I will be playing SSF again. As I have never played Scion class before, I decided to create a build for it with SSF in mind based on my BV experience with Shadow & Pathfinder. Another reason that I picked the Scion class is because of this MTX that I bought when it went on sale ;) " _____________________________________________________________________________

As this is meant to be league starter build for SSF. There is no required gears.
You simply use the best spell damage wand or dagger that you can find. Dagger is preferred though because you can use Shield Charge with a dagger but not a wand (Flame Dash for wand)

Ascendancy
Elementalist-> Path of the Witch -> Assassin
Flasks
Flasks are very important. They ensure better survivability and provide more damage. - Anti-bleed with 50% instant recovery on life flask - Anti-freeze with increased duration for quick silver - Anti-curse with increased duration for diamond For Wise Oak, having cold and lightning as the highest overcap resistance (with same value), you will have 15% more elemental penetration for both elements. If you are running Herald of Ash too, having all 3 resistance at the same value gives the most damage buff. You can swap quick silver (or diamond) for Taste of Hate for more mitigation + damage. If you are keeping diamond flask in the setup, you will need it to have anti-freeze.
Crafting
on 1H dagger or wand
Jewels
Stats that you would want to look out for when you source for jewels (in order of priority):
- % Increased Maximum Life (P) - % Increased Spell Damage for Dual Wielding / Shield, depending on which setup you are on (P) - % Increased Spell Damage (S) - % to Critical Multiplier for Spells (S) - % to Global Critical Multiplier (S) - % Increased Physical Damage (S) - % Increased Damage (S) - % Increased Attack and Cast Speed (S) Legend: P - Prefix, S - Suffix

Completed Merciless Izaro in 3.0 Beta Wave 4 at level 68 using 4L:
" Guide is 3.0 ready. | |
Just wanted to thank you for the guide, it is so well written and detailed!

Why are u doing chaos build? i think your build is mixed the elemental and physical and chaos....
|
|
" Thank you. :) ______________________________________________________________________________ " Why not? ;) " This ring will provide great chaos damage buff for the build but even without, clearing Uber Izaro shouldn't be an issue. The main elemental mix in the damage is Hatred. Necromancer gives 30% increased to damage if there is a running aura and Hatred is a better aura (Heralds are not aura) than purities as it provide 36% more cold damage. Cospri's Will chest will benefit the build a lot with its poison on hit on cursed enemies. I wish there is Soul of RNG God in the Pantheon System so I can get that chest to drop in SSF.
In the last league I played the For Slayer build - Ngamahu Cyclone Build
In the new league I'll start again on your guide. I hope this one will not be weaker)
" Thank you. I hope it don't disappoint you. :) In terms of game play, Ngamahu Cyclone will definitely be smoother than Blade Vortex as you just keep on moving and destroying things in your path. Blade Vortex requires you to stop and cast the spell every so often and that can be a hassle. Comparing these 2, I feel Ngamahu Cyclone is a better league starter in the trading league while this build will provide a smoother leveling experience if you are going for SSF league.
