[3.6] Milky's Scorching Ray Totems (updating process)

I do not understand why you take Scorching Ray or Orb of Lightning. I thought you were unable to do damage outside of totems because of that one passive we pick up at level 40.

Orb of storms is the best skill to procc elemental overload AND curse on hit with one skill. It can still crit even when it deals no dmg. Without ancestral bond it even debuffs elemental equilibrium.

Scorching ray debuffs enemys with up to -24% fire resistance, which is a nice dmg boost in bossfights. Doesnt have to deal any dmg for that debuff.

So I just wanted to say thanks as this is pretty much the first league where I ever hit eng game with and your guide allowed to get really into PoE. (already did all of the guardians and attempted shaper once).

What items can I use to scale my build if I wanted to make end game content easier? (Yeah I know its already shaper and guardians viable but i'm asking how I'd make it more smoother)

And I was wondering if you can could you take a look at my character and give me any suggestions of how I could improve.

I'm trying the build with the chieftain ascendancy instead of the berserker because I wanted more survivability. I have 6 points so far so I took Tukohama,War's Herald and Tahwoa, Forest's Strength. After I beat the uberlab, I'm wondering if I should respec from Tahwoa into Hinekora.

Right now I have about 14,000 armor with the Tahwoa and the determination aura. I could also spec into Blood Magic and drop determination if I change my ascendancy passives. Any advice?

You mentioned that gear should not have added fire damage spells.

I found these gloves which have "Adds 1 to 2 fire damage to attacks". Are these OK to wear?

I didn't saw this referenced in your "3.0 Changes from 2.6" section.

For HC characters would you recommend Chieftan or Berserker?
