Budget PvP Guides: Anything you can gear, I can gear better.

Not all "you"s in my comment refered to the personal you, but rather the collective you, as anyone doing this process, but still, why feel so offended? I did take a bit of assumption on your caster experience, cus I never saw you doing caster, only heard you did a flameblaster, but if it's not the case this argument is pretty easy to disprove.

Otherwise my reasoning is not so unfounded, and to start with you did miss the reasoning as why your statements apply only to attack builds specifically, and not to all builds in general as I implied.

The things you mention are not in correlation with your statements, the base damage coming from gems has little significance on it's own, as the total damage output depends on a lot more factors, added flat damage, plus gem levels, and all the usual multipliers attack builds get too, most of them through gearing. Attack builds' offense tends to be more expensive for sure, but thinking and finding ways is always present in poe, it's always hard, and even more specifically in PvP, with any kind of build.

Shavs and sambars are not dominant enough to make a pattern, both lowlife and the 6-12% penetration can be easily justified by other gearing, and stun immunity/resistance is not caster-specific, and not even ES-specific, as even most life based characters need it in PvP.

As far as forum PvP goes, we didn't even queue up yet, I didn't wrote any offending, or hateful sentence to you, I only made well based assumptions, and pointed a question directly at you, and if you feel offended by it, it's your problem.

Clarification

I never meant that budget builds do not exist for PvP and maybe I should have been more specific about what league (Standard High Level Dueling) I was/am referring to; however, the point I was trying to make still stands: "budget" is subjective and anything I post based upon a competitive build I have created will easily be 'out-itemed' by someone with access to more currency...

Thus, the vast majority of competitive Standard HLD PvP build guides will be created and maintained by those who also post in HLD Porn... who also know that very few people will be able to replicate their guide.

However, as I mentioned before in my initial post - this is not necessarily a bad thing, because it forces less currency centered players to become more innovative and resourceful in building competitive HLD PvP builds (sans the obvious meta exploits).

In other words, my post was more meant to be an observation rather than a complaint... apologies if the former seemed less emphasized than the latter.

I am playing around with GS and it seems there is quite a bit you can do with it. Its hard making a decision to get more jewel sockets or defensive nodes or utility nodes. I am greedy so I went for 15 sockets at lvl 89 lol. I imagine my char will be squishy af but hopefully the offscreen is strong when its done. Ya it does seem like 3 flasks are used everytime rofl.
