Leveling progression for the tree? Sry I dun have a good guide for this .... basically if you wanna play softcore then go for offensive node 1st then defensive, if hardcore will be defensive node 1st then offensive.

Of course try to get Ancestral Bond asap to get 2 totems up and running.

Hey, thanks a lot for the build! Can you explain how Righteous Providence from the ascendancy tree and Controlled Destruction interact with each other? They don't negate each other out, do they?

it does, to mitigate the penalty of Control Destruction

I'm going to piggy back on that question. I just started using Elemental Focus and it seems to me to put out more damage as you're not chasing back the crit chance you lose with Controlled Destruction. EF's elemental damage bonus also goes higher than CD's spell power bonus. For that all you lose is the ability to set them on fire(which helps with Righteous Providence), am I wrong that that's a lower negative than a 100% CHC loss?

Another reason i didn't use Elemental Focus is i play shock dmg too from the vaal lightning trap which x40% global damage on enemy.

Sorry for the late reply but ... can you explain more about "demage gems"? There's many damage gems i'm using so ... can you be more specific a bit?
