I see you're not running ICS and you don't really have any crit on your gear outside of Starkonja's and weapons. With a similar setup (I actually have more crit from gear), I sit at around ~43% crit without ICS socketed. I think that comes out to approximately ~77% crit with power charges and diamond flask up.

That seems kind of sketchy. You feel Ice Bite/Added Cold are worth the crit loss?

I recommend using Path of Building. When I enable Diamond Flask and Power Charges I have 68.19% crit chance. These are the DPS contributions of those gems as a 6th link:

- Increased Crit Strikes: 13.5% more DPS (increases crit chance to 82.8% chance to crit)
- Increased Crit Damage: 29.7 more DPS
- Added Cold Damage: 32.4% more DPS
- Ice Bite: 35.5% more DPS

Ice Bite and Cold Damage are almost twice as powerful as increased crit strikes. You do not need 80%+ crit. You attack too fast with this build to care. Crit damage gem is also stronger than the crit strikes.

For any of you asking for which gems are stronger, you really should just use Path of Building.

why arent you considering using melee physical? according to my path of building its one of the best modifiers... better then any of those.

You must be using out of date (2.6) Path of Building or your character is very strange. If you import my character into Path of Building, Melee Physical Damage is not good. The new Ruthless support gem gives more damage. So does Added Cold and Ice Bite. In 3.0 the Added Cold and Ice Bite support gems were buffed significantly.

Frankly, I think anyone running Melee Physical Damage in this patch is making a mistake. Not only does it not scale your projectiles, but it even scales your melee damage worse than other support gems that support both.

I'm currently playing this build and having some issues with map bosses. I've recently tried to kill the boss of Phantasmagoria and Fetid Pool and had problems getting one/two shot and not dealing enough damage.
Should I focus on doing maps without the bosses to get currency and levels? Any other tips regarding playstyle vs bosses or equip?

Couple of things:
1.) You didn't go into Winter Spirit, so your damage isn't being completely converted to cold. This is also reducing the effectiveness of your Cold Penetration gem.
2.) We try to focus on passives that affect both the melee and ranged portion of Frost Blades, so taking projectile nodes in the tree is inefficient (especially since the projectiles are mostly useless on bosses).
3.) You've missed several of the largest contributing DPS passives in the tree (Fangs of Frost, Winter Spirit, Claws of the Pride but I think you're heading that way).
4.) You're on a 4link. If you're mapping, you should already have at least enough currency to buy a 5link (roughly 1 chaos).
5.) Finish using whetstones on your weapons.
6.) Your life for where you are in maps is fine. If you need more survivability, you can get a corrupted Kaom's Roots for cheaper and spec into Iron Reflexes (I noticed I started dying much less frequently when I did this).
7.) Ultimately a lot of your survivability is from leeching and you need more damage before you're getting back enough life from that.

You might want to check your gem links section, since you suggest Elemental Focus in your 6l, rendering the HoI setup obsolete

In order of importance:

1. Diamond Flask!!!!! It's by far the most powerful flask in the build.
2. Get higher level. You need more jewel slots and Claws of Pride.
3. Get a better belt with phys damage and/or ele damage
4. Damage stats on rings
5. Taste of Hate
6. Better everything else.

not yet but i don't seem to need more crit, i shatter every pack, have both power and frenzy charges up 99% of the time. i can give more stats when i'll be home(crit chance with power charges and flasks, dps buffed, etc)

i feel like my uptime on power charges is super low and i have 2 claws of anguish..... mobs are never cursed with assasins mark.

what is going on?
