Welcome to the greatest of arenas, Duelist. God is watching you.

Lol, missed that, browsing the forum at 6 am.... :D

Nice divine at least.
You just wasted 3 seconds reading this.

Advice? Base your meaning of "decent" on SSF play rather than Trading.

A sword that has more pDPS than my current one (320) :P

If you dont strictly need a specific weapon type it may help to pick up and ID blue/yellow weapons. A wisdom scroll is much cheaper than an Alt. And selling the IDed blue/yellow gives more currency.
Essence crafts can help too. Best use sufficient item level. IIRC at least 77 if you want IAS. More for small chance at better %%phys damage.
The prophecy doesnt have much value far as I know.

Yeah, I've been doing that. It's how I got my hands on my current 320pDPS foil. I am trying to get an upgrade to it though, because I'd like to get enough ethical damage to do the guardians easily. The prophecy was just a crapshoot, since it turns a white into a 3 mod rare there is a chance it could hit two phys mods.

It's just the way those mods are weighted. Some mods are equally weighted throughout the tiers and equally weighted with other tiers of different mods that can roll. Then some mods are weighted slightly less than other mods while still being consistent across tiers. Then there's the really shitty ones, the ones which are less and less weighted as they approach the better tier.

These are classically damage mods and are taken to extremes when trying to roll items which can roll both caster and physical mods.

While you rolling a sword in fact eliminates caster mods, the harshness of the diminishing weights is still real.

Look at the 1H sword weightings. The prefixes you want all have diminishing weightings. You are wanting to hit one of the high end diminished weightings, then regal another.

A lot of people don't realise how harsh the chance is, I suggest you study these mod pages a bit.

Now, conversely, a lot of people do know how harsh the chance is, but wrongly associate this to all crafting. Here's the flip side, take a look at Intel Body Armours for example. The difference is night and day.

This is a good resource, thank you for the link and advice. I knew that the mods were weighted, but not the tiers as well. That's incredibly harsh. I guess I will just have to be persistent and turn it into a little project of mine. The difficulty now is I need both alts and regals, and the recipes for those use rare items, need to balance my resources.
21/05/18 - The beginning of the end of PoE
Got a decent HoWA ST Build running:

Spoiler

It took quite a long time to get to this point, first played a Pizza Stick Inquisitor till lvl 89 and then an Icecrash Slayer to 93. Think I got my first Esh Blessing on the 5th Breachstone.

Right now I'm farming to get a Vaal Sparker set up, the real hurdle seems to be a good cold dmg / AS / crit dagger or a Call of the Brotherhood.
Managed to chance those a week ago tho:
I think my char is cursed. 3 weeks already and no burning trial for uber lab. Seriously? Should I buy another tab/mtx to get one pop up for me in map?
Just ripped on my 5th char at lvl 78 in SSF HC, but I must say it's still the most fun I've had playing PoE. There's always new builds I want to try out with my accumulated uniques when my current char dies.

I've found lots of decent stuff for a facebreaker build, but I'm still a bit scared of running it with Abyssus. And the facebreakers' roll could be better. /shrug

Or maybe a DW cleave gladiator if I can find the threshold jewel.

I think the game wants me to play a certain build. I'm not sure I can quite put my finger on what exactly it is...

If only there was some sort of theme between the items it was throwing at me... ;)

A Juggernaut ascendancy with some additional defensive nodes from the passive tree, and some endurance charges, will compensate for the Abyssus.
The Wheel of Nerfs turns, and builds come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the build that gave it birth comes again.

Indeed, that could work. Perhaps I should build around shield charge? Gives me quite alot of freedom with my passive points. :)

It's what I would do. Shield charge is great. Top-notch clear speed. I would be tempted to do something like that myself if I had the gear for it, but I don't - for now.
