How is ssf going for u guys/girls? ^^
Just got this from an awakening drop. Also got these for he first time, gonna be using them on an Assassin. Also, new name. I'd been holding onto my free PSN name change for 7 years now. I'm gonna have to change my signature. Need a new signature, cuz name change. I dunno though. I guess this seems fine. Yeah, this is good.

I want to start a SSF character but can't decide on what kind of build.
No cyclone, thats for sure. This will be my first time playing SSF. What kind of build would you guys recommend?
I usually go arc, both because it's a good starting build and also because it's my favourite skill in the game :D This time I'm mixing it up and going for a non-crit life/mana hybrid, just to see how far I can push the build. On paper at least, it looks much nicer than I expected with no gear requirements, but scales nicely with a few bits that I'm hoping will drop.
I can send you my current PoB pastebin but of course the new patch could change things (highly unlikely to drastically impact my build as nothing on it is in nerf territory, but you never know!) and I don't claim to be any kind of build expert :) Anyway, arc is my recommendation. |

" Sounds good! :D Could you send the PoB link? :D
^ I've never played arc, but minions always have a good time in SSF, even before the buffs in Blight league. Dominating Blow, for example:
This could have gone better, but also could have gone so much worse... Last edited by nice_guy_threeve on May 17, 2020, 6:18:12 PM

Minions do seem to be a 'nothing needed' build. I briefly played a zombie build this league and it was powerful, but not my playstyle personally. Strange, summons are my favourite in most games...
Pastebin for arc; https://pastebin.com/RhGvJ3AN. The build is based on level 92, but I can strip it back slightly if you like. probably best to cut passive points back depending on where your gear is lacking at the time, however. Annointments, enchantments and pantheon etc are in the notes section. None of these are currently included in calculations. You will need to adjust your passives to keeps your balance of mana/life/ES right as it will change a bit as you gear up, in particular, remember that the life/ES part is not fully active for chaos and you still need [some] mana for casting. I'll be posting in here as I go and would consider writing it up if it goes well, but I think people tend to default to Enki's [awesome] arc witch, so probably not much point. A few points to consider, but let me know if something doesn't make sense; Gear: When planning a build I assume crap items, so half the gear is 4 mods only with a tabula for 6-link arc. Therefore, expect that your stats will be better. I may drop the chaos res on the jewels for something else once I have blessed. I will be down a fettle for a while because it will take time for me to craft the large cluster jewel, if ever. A few uniques that I'm hoping for are Cloak of Defiance which is a huge boost (I will be chancing away for it, knowing my luck I will get the other LG unique), Mindspiral and at least one Essence Worm. Skills: Wave of conviction will have blind until I get disorienting display on the cluster, and then it becomes cold snap for frenzy charges. I'm playing about with making the golems self cast with culling strike, swapping the culling on the orb for onslaught and swapping my silver flask for something. The general idea is have flasks up and hit the enduring mana as appropriate. Flame dash/run for movement, running activates self cast arcane cloak. Drop the orb and arc away. The orb is there for power charges, innervate (not sure how reliable innervate will be as I don't typically use it and we don't shock with arc) and culling. It has a nice AoE because of our ascendancy. Wrath and zealotry are not activated. Wrath will be activated once we get Essence Worm and is a nice boost. What is Activated in PoB: It is set to standard, not shaper etc. Flasks are up; silver, granite and jade. You will also have an enduring mana flask so the mana sustain is better than it looks. Arcane surge is up but innervate, exposure from wave of conviction and arcane cloak are not due to situational triggering, the latter being a massive boost of roughly 250k. Inspiration charges are set at 10 because our mana cost is low enough for consistent charges. Supercharge (cluster) doesn't seem to get calculated and I can't find a way to do so in PoB, but that is a big boost (lucky non-crits) for us too which we don't see at the moment. I'd like to get endurance charges in somewhere but I'm still figuring how to do it without losing something I need. Last edited by KirenaStern on May 17, 2020, 9:11:52 PM

" Necro or Miner are, in my opinion, the easiest SSF builds out there. ~ Adapt, Improvise and Overcome
