Frankfurt Gateway: Had some issues when using a waypoint back to Lioneyes. Got to town fine but couldn't move away from WP. Relogging fixed it and it sorted itself out after a while but still... No actual disconnects, though.

So this is just getting swept under the carpet it seems. Fact is, I had no intention of racing today but when I dc'd and couldn't log back in for a few minutes I knew that others that were trying to race were going to be affected.
At this time I am assuming nothing is being done about this. I can't find anything from GGG on the subject but their silence and it's pissed me right off to the point where after 3 years of playing, I'm one step away from vendoring the fucking lot. There were two separate problems encountered in this race:
The first was that the system clock in one of our servers in Frankfurt was incorrect. This resulted in the "This league has already ended" error and inability to move that players experienced if they connected to that specific server. We already have processes in place to ensure this does not happen, but this server managed to fail in a way we have not seen before. We will be investigating further and updating our processes and monitoring to ensure this does not happen again. The second problem was that some of our London servers disconnected from the realm during the race. This caused a number of players to disconnect, and in some cases be unable to log back in for a short while. This was due to a server side network problem, so we are working with our server host to improve network stability. We are also looking at ways we can modify our backend network layout to reduce the chance of network problems affecting the realm. I apologise to all players affected by the above problems, and hope that you are still able to enjoy the remaining race events over the weekend. Also, from the OP: The prizes will be awarded after the weekend of races has concluded. We'll be issuing these manually during the work-day. This includes the mystery boxes, so don't worry, you will still receive your prizes - sorry for any ambiguity in the wording of how the prizes would be awarded. |
