New items and craftable mods for atlas of worlds/essence

GGG would have an easier time balancing the game if the differences in item power weren't so vast. I'd personally rather see good rares become much easier to craft (or the difference between top rares and average rares lessened). Then GGG can make the whole game more difficult with less reliance on spike damage, as well as have a narrower balance target for pvp.

I resisted perandus and prophecy but metamods+essences would have actually gotten me to play a temp league.

Too bad.
Never underestimate what the mod community can do for PoE if you sell an offline client.
You guys do realise it would've been possible to make what we now understand as mirror-worthy weapons, for less than 20ex? In few months it would've ruined the game for everyone pretty much

Don't get me wrong though, I dont think this league is particularly interesting as it is, but the way the essences were supposed to work initially would've been a catastrophe and I'm actually quite surprised they even considered it -.-

Do mirror worthy weapons currently ruin the game for people who can afford them?

You should have played Prophecy, I made so much money there that I can finance one or two build next season without having to play the league (and enjoy the Atlas as soon as the patch drop).

But yeah I would have fun crafting a legacy worthy of each main items then laugh at people in std. Heck I would have grind the shit of the league to craft something similar to Glyph Mark (aiming for brood was a bit too much to ask).

"Those who can afford em" are such a small playerbase that it doesn't matter.

Making mirror level items for 20 ex makes it available to essentially everybody. There's just no incentive to pick up any items anymore at that point unless it's a T1 unique.

That would certainly level the playing field in pvp, giving people more incentive to play. Saving up for 10's of exalts, rather than 100's/1000's, would widen the player base.

Gear checks are probably the number one reason people don't pvp, IMO.

Until you can afford decent enough items, you can do budget builds in pvp and do ok.

Most people who come to PvP and aren't actual pvpers just refuse to believe their character is the problem. They don't even give it the light of day when it comes to making changes and understanding what works better.

Sure, weapon based builds are gated by items, but casters and such are not (as much).

Mirror quality items for 20-30ex investment would make this game much better. It would remove the monopoly that is a "mirror service". Most of their decisions are to keep casuals in the game and buying Rhoa pets among other bull shit..this would be a beneficial addition. Itemization is already better then it's ever been with uniques at an all time low and 6links very obtainable. Though lets be real here, 20-30ex isn't chump change for most players and then having to potentially 6link said item as well, seems pretty fair. Lets not ignore the grind involved just to get masters leveled, acquire the said exalts and outfit most of your item slots using this method. Why should we have a select few douche bags that RMT'd early on in the game that developed mirror services still controlling the economy?

It should of encouraged people to pick up rares more often in search of already powerful t1-2 mods to start from as a base in lieu of or along side alt/aug/regal spamming. Then mix master modding and essence til near completion. Restricting 1 essence per item would of been the better solution then outright ignoring master modding in general.
GGG, the ADA of gaming....huuuur i gotz mai skilz.

As they said it was too complicated to integrate in the game, probably involved programming an entire new currency and I bet they were too focused on Atlas to bother with.
Mulla, do you really want every bow user to run around with a brood twine? Lol no thank you! I know I'm biased because I have an active mirror service thread (and is honestly now my only source of orbs really since I'm casual AF now), but mirrors are cheaper than they have been in a long time. With master daily recipes, loot filters, currency flipping, lab runs/enchant service, divination cards, and premium tab API, it should be easier than ever - even if you don't speak any language at all.

And then there are still moments of luck etc. Everyone waits for that jump-off moment, whether it be dropping a sick item or some item you had in your stash that turns legacy and/or becomes extremely useful.

My first 2 big jump-offs

Back in beta, the only really good MF build I knew of back then was the MF totem sporker. My buddy and I two-man farmed Kole at Lunaris 2 all summer long. We pooled together everything we got to get him a shavs first, then me a soul taker. I stood in town and got the shittiest, cheapest rolled soul taker I could find. We had only one divine orb between us, and I used it and rolled 198/24/24, a 4-off perfect. When they went legacy, I traded it straight across for my first mirror weapon, The 1H RT Long Sword, Gale Bane. I want to say mirrors were around 170 at the time.

Before I was 2H, I was dual wield BoR with 75/65 block with no shield. Since my background consisted mainly of BoR or Kaoms, I really valued high resistance rings. I bought a 3 t1 res +12% implicit prismatic for about 3ex and just had a shitty 40life master crafted to it. I phased it out, but never sold it because I never thought I'd get what I wanted off of it, put it in my stash and forgot about it. When Meta-modding came out, I wiped the 2 shit suffixes off of it, and sold it for 90ex in under a day. 5ex and 1 scour investment turned into 90ex.
