Whatever you do after a race: Never ever delete a character until you can confirm that the points have been distributed. Since characters are hard-wiped from the database on deletion, the game has no record that it existed in the first place. Usually, that means that you won't get points for that race The whole system is bullshit. You could reward points the moment you do something that gives you points (like killing a boss or clearing a zone first).
