Medallion, Event 1: 30 Min Endless Ledge

Ingame it says that I should register in 40~ minutes but when I create a new char picking 30 min ledge as the "server" It is grey and it won't allow me to register. Do I need to do this on the forum? o.o

One of the things thats confusing me is what skill gems are avliable since in the guide thing that was posted skills like fire trap and flame totem were mentioned, is the pool of skills limited in some way in races? or is it just that some skills are better for clear speed type than others?

You can register (and log in) 30 minutes before the start of the race, not before that. Just wait a bit longer and then it'll be enabled on the login screen in the client.

This event is an "endless ledge" race: you don't have quests, nor even a town. You will start at the ledge, with a chest nearby. Once the race starts you will be able to move to the chest and open it. It will contain some gear and skill gems. Choose wisely, and then just start running and killing. After that chest you will have no more quests or rewards, only random loot drops.

Note that not all races are like this. In some races you will have the normal towns and quests.

@tunsik6: There is a 48 hour solo-self found event similar to the 5day event during the awakening closed beta. It starts in three weeks.

@Dracooltenks, and marblejacob: Check your timezone setting in account preferences, if that is not set it will default to your browser settings, which can cause problems. Earlier reddit post about this.

@4gg_Spark: Registration for an event is open 30 min before the event starts, so characters cannot be created for the race just yet. But you do create the character in game not on the forums.

@Karia_Price: There is a set provisions chest at the start of this event. It has the same items for every class. PoE Wiki page for the Endless Ledge race type. Any skills/gear/flasks you want past those starting items will need to drop during the race.

i start at strand and need to rush to ledge? and then only doing ledge till time runs out ? that it's or ?

GGG Announcement thread for Endless Ledge Race mode

It is a non-standard race event where every zone is a ledge-like zone. The monster level of the zones increase by 2, there is a unique boss found at the end of every ledge, there is no backtracking, there are no towns, there are no quests, and monsters from all acts can spawn (but not until the 3rd or 4th ledge).

Just a liner run through zones killing monsters.
