This is in the case of the socket being white, right?

I like having new buffs per charge, but the numbers would have to be tuned properly.

We could perhaps call it...super charges.

But a white socket being a corruption, I was thinking the super effects of the charges could be random (and unknown to users at first).

For example, there would be a small pool of effects for each charge type and as you gain new charges, these effects would be randomly selected from the pools. AND to add to that (and to incentivize refreshing each charge type constantly), maybe certain super charge effect combinations could have cool bonuses.

Like a shock or ice nova shrine that lasts 4 seconds. Something visual similar to headhunter where you feel powerful for blasting through content.

Yeah, I really wish GGG would quit stalling and give us our green set items, ala diablo franchise.
Mjolner rainbownuke was basically a set. And that feedback loop between mjolner, romiras, volls, and kingsguard was one of the most synergistic builds we've ever built mechanistically.

I wish there were more builds that worked mechanistically like that.


Nice usage of the word "mechanistically" twice, I noticed. Also feedback loop probably isn't the right term. We're talking about a game with consumable buffs, not process controls that take feedback and adjust outputs accordingly to meet a setpoint.

A feedback loop is what a thermostat in a home does.

DW KB(500ex+) - even Choir of Storm + 2 Light damage rolled imbued would take 200ex~ ish. (which gets hard countered by talismans also)
Glass Cannon Fireball ~~ Magma Orb(300ex+ you need a decent +2 skin for this build. kinda hard to get)
LL Flameblast(500ex+) - not vs every build

T1

scolds zerphi EA(200ex+, real tough ones would take 600ex+) - this is for the most of the builds impossible to handle yet they are too dependant to flasks and frost walls counter them good.

my list is to list builds according to how hard they are to counter, and how many top tier builds they can counter. I'm not directly aiming to list them according to their top 1v1 ranking potentials.

Rup, the costs you listed are absurdly high, especially for glasses, the difference between a build with 2-5 ex in every slot vs a BiS item in every slot is not significant, they have full potential with cheap versions because they are already one-shotting others and everyone one-shots them.

My Aegis build (full tank) is nowhere near T1, it only has a little potential because most people don't take PvP seriously. It gets countered by simply walking around it, or for try-hards scorching ray or 65% BCR almost any skill.

I would keep LA in T1 tbh.

1.3 crit firestorm: #1280086 / 1.3 crit Ice Nova: #1219809 / Flame Nova (sire of shards incinerate): #1359847
Rup's list is missing a looooot of builds and the the cost estimates are absurdly high. The tiers dont exactly make sense either as the tier placements are vastly different depending on the arena (sarn vs 1v1). Also not sure if golem builds have a place at all in a list like this.

Things that also probably belong to the highest tier as they are only countered by a build or two:
- Life-based or ES-based herald of thunder (yeah the life based version without grand specs is stupid
broken as well)
- Life-based or ES-based CWC build
- Bear trap
- Any zerphi bloodmagic build (spells, attacks, mines, traps, whatever)

Builds that can be countered by quite a few things, yet are still way above the average pvp char with very little effort:
- High mobility blight (sray swap)
- Blast rain and barrage (if we are really going to think every bow skill is a different build)


Unless they change something radically, these things will probably hold true even in 3.0
