my tooltip seems low but dmg is enough atm for t8 blue mobs, sometimes i feel like high hp magic mobs live slightly long enough to raise my pulse :/, i get hit sometimes.

(only died 2 times from lvl68 to 85 now, which is somehow cool for me haha)

Not really no. Just focus on getting better lvling gear a little more than you'd do in softcore.

If you find a spell damage dagger that gives you more than 35% spell damage (extra ele dmg on spells wont affect the dot so that's useless for this build) then you can change to the dagger for WB. Of course also after you've started using a 4L+ instead of the Lifesprig as your 3L :)

Currently crafting BiS ED/Contagion dagger in Standard league for yolo reasons! :)

This may be totally stupid, but I am curious what you think about my change. I am using trap and multiple traps (soon to be cluster traps) with my contagion. I seem to get better coverage. I am enjoying playing this build, but it is a complete departure from my normal style of play. And of course since I only play SSF and I sort of suck, gearing is hard. Thanks for the build and I hope I can learn the play style before I RIP.

If you prefer to play the build that way, go for it! I always promote people to do their own version of builds to make sure the build fits them the best.
Personally I don't like fiddling around with Contagion as it has enough AoE on it's own with quality / Inc AoE support gem. But again, that's my personal preference! :)

1) Why are you using Contagion + Faster Casting + iAoE + Flame dash?!?

I think on Contagion + Increase Duration + iAoE + Rapid Decay/Void Manipulation.

2) And... does ED go well with Lesser/Greater Multiple Projectiles?

For 2) well ED works well with LMP but it decreases damage and in combination with contagion you only need shot one target in a pack to spread Dot.

But for me i am more comfortable with lmp , so try both and choose by yourself.

For the nodes it is a compromise between life and damage
And seems that damage is enough yet without these nodes

For the 1) maybe because not more slots to put flame dash ... and support FC and iAOE are good also for Flame Dash

As i began by a frost blades before discover ED i was start on crit / chaos build but it is only initial hit which crit or also Dot of ED ?
In fact i thinking of an hybrid build ED and Viper strike for boss and for levelling it works well ( Viper Strike make more damage in beginning so useful on boss )

but now it depends on gear and seems complicate to have both physical damage ( for Viper Strike, whirling blades ) and spell damage for ED / contagion ...

Edit : i don't know why i use VP for Viper Strike ... sorry

1. Because contagion is only there to proliferate your ED's damage output. So you want to cast it fast and has as big AoE as possible on it. (With quality on Contagion and Increased AoE you don't want nor need any inc aoe from the tree (it would be wasted)).

2. Well, since pierce was reworked and is now one of the best support gems for any projectile based attack/spell having LMP/GMP would seem great, but I can assure you it is far from great. It is an "ok" support gem but nowhere near as good as almost any other support gem.
The way ED/Contagion works is this:
ED does the damage and Contagion spreads it when a target with ED & Contagion dies. So you only need to kill 1 enemy fast and it will spread to every nearby enemies and continue to spread from there with the same rules. This means that hitting multiple enemies with ED is rather wasted as all you need to do is hit 1 enemy (start with Contagion) and everyone else will get it as well.

TLDR:
GMP/LMP => Lower clear speed / longer time for any enemy to die and initiate the spread
Not GMP/LMP => 1 target dies the fastest possible and everyone else will get the DoT from there. (Highest clear speed).

The build is mainly designed for hardcore so defensive nodes needs to be considered as well, if you wish to do more damage simply remove some life nodes or so for it. Just keep in mind that you can easily run highest tier maps with this and surviving becomes more of a vital option than slightly more damage. Specially as you are already doing an absurd ammount of DPS. :)

Method of Madness can be discussed in a fight vs Growth & Decay (northeast of shadow start area) as you'll lose HP regen for Chaos Res and slightly more damage. Both clusters are good but imo only 1 is needed and it comes down to a matter of taste imo.

I only use Flame Dash on this build for doing Labs (safer vs traps) but all other situations: Whirling Blades > Flame Dash!

The DoT is based of the ED's initial hit, so if it crits the DoT damage will scale from that instead, however, it is not recommended to go crit ED for obvious reasons.
I wouldn't recommend mixing ED/Contagion with other builds than RF as it is a direct buff ability to any spell damage casters!
