no, your minions won't trigger EE, you have to be you attacking in order to proc EE.
and you have to actually "hit" with your spells or attacks, reason why spells like scorching ray which don't hit never proc EE even if self-cast.

anything that hits will trigger 70% minion damage from the Scourge (even Culling strike if it has the corruption) therefore any spell or attack will do the work

Minion Life is not something we prio with this build, the Soul Weaver ascendancy takes care of their survival alone pretty much ( we get some from the tree either way ), you want to focus on Minion DMG entirely.

Crit/Atk speed etc etc these mods does not affect your minions, I'd recommend you to watch this video: Generic Summoner Mechanic Guide also, read the pinned msg below the video. This will teach you about the generic mechanics of summoners and how they work. Basically, anything that doesn't specifically state that it affects minions or allies does not work, unless you have external factors making it affect minions (example: Necromantic Aegis keystone), this obviously excludes things like curses/auras which are already external buff/debuff factors.


So your prio list is:
Hardcore:
Cap res > Life > Minion DMG
Softcore:
Cap res > Minion DMG > Life

All I have left to upgrade is my gloves & then I'm not sure what to do. Once I hit 92 I will have the last jewel slot unlocked & can put the 7% life/min dmg/fire res jewel in there. I will then be around 7k HP. Not sure where to go from there.

Belt of the Deciver was nerfed last patch making it only affect "Attack Damage" so it no longer works for our spectres :(
Bisco's Leash is a great clear speed enhancer but if you want something for bosses I'd recommend something like a Stygian Vise with a minion dmg jewel in it.

Get more jewels after that!
This spec should be able to run Uber Elder as well, yes. If you find yourself having troubles I'd recommend looking in to my Lich Queen build guide, it's utilizing spectres as well as skeletons and the trees are almost identical, just a few minor tweaks in terms of gearing/gems & playstyle. (The high budget version with melee skellies that is which is not so high budget anyways xd)

We can't similate it, it's been going through extensive testing since the patch that introduced 10 acts. Basically, poedb.tw/us has the datamined information showing us life & dmg modifiers and the baseline dmg which they scale from, but since we have no information on how they behave when they are summoned in a higher lvl state it's again impossible to determine, however, with the life & dmg modifiers we are safely confirm which minion is the best, Solar Guards outperforms Flame Sentinels by a pretty large margin.

Wow, your gear is super solid, the only complaint I have is this:
Any jewel you can and can afford to change you should and the #1 mod you want on the new jewel is this:
"%minion dmg when you've used a minion skill recently" (preferably 18-20%) this will skyrocket your dmg significantly. The #2 mod would in hardcore be "flat life" and in softcore as well if you want to be tankier, otherwise things that grants you more damage to the minions is preferable, but the first mod is the most important one.

Well I'm not ghazzy but I can answer that: shield charge is 1 option and you are also advised to use curse on hit EE proc skill like ball lightning or orb of storms. When that hits you also proc scourge extra damage.

"Hits" is anything from attacks to spells that actually hits, an example that doens't hit is a spell like "Contagion" that only applies a debuff on the enemies!

do you think that "minion dmg if used minion skill recently" can outperform "minions have % increased cast speed" for Solar guards?

Thanks a lot "Lord of summoners" :) Holy cow dude I just realized that flesh offering is a minion skill. I already have jewel with this modifier "%minion dmg when you've used a minion skill recently" will test it soon.

I forgot to ask: is culling strike worth to have on scourge claw? Or is there any good weapon alternative? But I just want to spend currency/change it if there is significant benefit.

I'm another random guy instead of Ghazzy, btw I had a Scourge with culling strike on my last summoner (and still have in standard) and, sure we're talking about min-maxing, but if you have enough currency to waste I think it's a very significant upgrade in heavier boss fights, especially for Uber Elder (that execute at 10% could really save your run!) assuming you're going to farm endgame bosses a lot (uber elder, shaper, elder, uber atziri, guardians, etc.)...while if you spend most of your time mapping or you're doing these bosses occasionally, you might consider other upgrades first.

Kind of a dumb question, but what gems do I use for the 5L? I doubt I'll be able to afford a 6L anytime soon.
Thanks a lot for taking the time to respond to the questions & congrats on the new apartment, Ghazzy.

I swapped out BotD for Bisco's for map clearing & it's so much better, holy crap. I've had 0 issues with shaper Guardians, but haven't attempted Shaper, nor have I been lucky enough to get a T15 Elder to try yet.

I guess the only thing left for me to get is a Stygian Vise belt with another jewel. Currently have way over capped res & 7.1khp. Since I don't need res on my belt, what would you recommend aside from obviously Str & Life? Increased flask duration or charges? Elemental damage? Also, how big of an increase is the 40% spectre damage helm enchant? I currently have a very nice helm but it doesn't have the enchant on it. I could possibly buy one with the enchant & then use the stygian to make up the res loss.

One thing I noticed was, I never have issues with my spectres, but I did a double beyond T15 with reflect last night & it absolutely wrecked them. That seems to be about the only situation where they actually die though. Is it phys reflect or ele reflect that hurts them? I'm guessing ele.
