Yep you can start it in Talisman league, there aren't too expensive items and you can manage to play with 5L staff nad chest.

I've leveled up 1-83 this summer with this build in a new leageu.
No problems. Invested several chaos :)

I strongly suggest to level with ARC and skip all AoE nodes before lvl 65+

I remember me leveling with Ice Nova and it was great. If you prefer with Arc so sure why not.

For leveling, I heartily recommend
I used it all the way to level 65, when I switched to Taryn's Shiver. The +1 to all the gems in it makes it incredibly powerful at low levels, and I never found a wand which could raise my DPS even further, even with high spell damage.

What about keeping the curse boots, and swapping aoe for a 3rd curse?
This could help survivability with an enfeeble or temporal, or even more dps with a frostbite.

Atziri step:
Has around 60-65 life.
Has around 640 evasion (and we are evasion based)
Has 30% movement speed
Has 14-16 chance to block spells.

Windscream:
Has armor (which is reduced by 50% because of acrobatics)
Only 10% movement speed
No life


I Find Atziri steps far more superior to use. I mean, windscream is overall not a good boots AT ALL for us, barely one stat that we really need (10% elemental damage).

Your answer would be "but its for the curse and the curse will grant us the dps / survivability"

Thats right, enfeeble or temp chains is nice.
Yet, I prefer permanent chance to block spells, life, high movement speed and high evasion - they are all factors for additional survibaility and I find them more superior than an additional curse while using boots that we don't need.

Why not use three dragons with shock nova? It deals more damage, it has faster casting speed. Just drop few dmg nodes and pick up life to compensate life loss from helm.

I'm new to this build.

But at least for me Shock Nova's dead zone is a dealbreaker for me.
Also Ice Nova looks much cooler.

Shock Nova average dmg with lv 20 gem is 370, Ice Nova is 463.
Ice Nova also has a 10% better damage effectiveness.

Ica Nova's cast speed is 28% slower but has better average damage and a better scaling. Then three dragon's would remove shock status and freeze them...without shock it is even more damage lost.

Ice Nova quality gives increased radius, shock nova increases shock duration, with three dragons is would be freeze duration. Seems useless to me.

At least basic math suggests that shock nova with three dragons would be terrible, assuming I didn't ignore some key mechanics
