Minion Damage

Hello, im currently playing a Necromancer Raise specter build.

I have chosen "Unnatural Strenght" passive from ascendancy, but i just realized that it doesnt apply to Minion Damage Support, its the only minion skill that im using and it doesnt get affected, i dont know if its working as intented or if its a bug

The 25% less life is wayyy out of line

1. First, minions already are weak many times
2. Builds based on minion instability are already weak enough dont you think??


Sugestion:
put a -50% all elemental resist penalty instead of -25%life
it will be a huge penalty, but one we can counteract, and in builds based on minion instability it will be a buff

you can find minion resist nodes, there is a +30%resists on necro tree, and you can get+resists from jewels as well
it need to be a bigger penalty so it demands more investiment on minion resist
or even using the elemental army gem to counteract that

-25% is too little
and movement speed for minions is already low hehe

is ALMOST
and they want to make it so ppl wont imidiatly use minion damage by default

It's already worse then MANY support gems, the only thing making it usable atm is that it scales with any minion (melee, ranged, elemental, chaos, AoE, chain and so forth). Which in my opinion is very counter-intuitive for a gem named "Minion Damage Support".
I stopped using this gem. It made my minions too weak.


I used to have minion damage in place of ruthless for my animate weapon minion master. But i replaced it and everything felt better.

I suggest removing the penalty or finding another type of penalty if it must have one. Failing that maybe 10% less maximum life at most.



More Feedback about the 25% LESS life mod on Minion Damage Support.

Some Background

I have been playing PoE since 2014, and almost always minion builds.

I write minion build guides these days, specifically for newbies to help them get into the game.

And in none of my builds do I have the minions using Minion Damage Support.

That's how broken this support gem is.
Unless its an unkillable minion like a Arakali Spider or a Herald of Agony Scorpion, Minion Damage Support is just WORSE than other choices.
The life penalty far out weighs the small gain in DPS over other support gem choices.

Compare and contrast this to Minion Speed Support.
This gem is just better in every way, compared to Faster Casting or Faster Attacks.


Since Minion Damage Support is LIMITED to use with minions, it needs to be SLIGHTLY better than non minion supports when used on a minion, NOT significantly WORSE!

I am not sure what change exactly you should make.
Minion Speed Support has NO penalties.
Perhaps Minion Damage should have no penalties too.
OR...
Maybe the Penalty should be very minor, like 10% reduced attack and cast speed.

In any case the penalty should be a REDUCED and not a LESS penalty.
