Firestorm

I honestly feel the rework has made Firestorm worse. I do think it could be salvaged rather easily. Make it the fire version of Orb of Storms. Firestorm gives you a big area to run around and cast spells in. Every fire spell you cast triggers a big meteor to fall from the sky. Over the duration smaller meteors will fall in the area of effect to deal some additional damage. You can have 3 Storm area active at any time. Now cast spell actually matters for the spell beyond ignoring the actual effect of the fire STORM itself and it still gets to serve a purpose as a spell that drops rocks on people. In its current iteration you're legitimately better off just playing Armageddon Brand.
Void sphere is a must have skill with fire storm. Without it clear is bad.

Probably nice idea will be to add some kind of flavour debuff and improve cast speed scaling.

The more damage on initial hit does not apply to damage over time like ignite nor decay, will this be fix in the future ?

It would be nice because the alternate quality makes it useless for damage over time builds

I must say i like the old version of firestorm way more. the meteor is pretty good but the small ones... ,they feel like little rain drops after a heavy storm and not even worth mentioning. my suggestion for the spell is, turn it back to the old version but keep the max storm limit to prevent server lags. and make the new version his own spell. something like meteor call similar to storm call, after a short duration comes the meteor but without the small fireballs afterward. then you could even create a vaal version for meteor call. wich would remind of meteor shower 3-6 ( 6 meteors at level 21) and creates burning ground. that would be a spell i would love to play. i hope this is good feedback and maybe you realy create that spell
I've been trying to use Decay with Firestorm (Divergent) but it feels like the "more damage with the first hit" isn't applying.

is it applying to the decay DoT or does it not apply?

Also, the feel of the skill is very... "don't play self cast"
Even after the more dmg buff to its Meteor it should still have a bit more flat dmg imo.

At Lv. 21 a anomalous firestorm would still only have an avg. hit of 855 fire dmg base and that rly isnt alot when looking at other fire skills like fireball for example with its huge base dmg & very high effectivness ontop.
Trying to satisfy the whole PoE community is like telling a nymphomaniac to only have sex once in a week.

I think that's fairly accurate. :')
I have a problem with my Firestorm CoC build. Not sure if anyone will read this, I am posting it in a few places:

I am using cyclone to trigger firestorm. I recently swapped from Cast on Crit to Awakened Cast on Crit, which increased my effective trigger rate from around 3.5 to around 7 (give or take, based on what flasks I have up, if I have blocked recently, am leeching, etc) I have noticed, that occasionally, it feels like my DPS goes into the the shitter. Almost stopping all together.

What I assume is happening, is I am hitting some breakpoint (around 7 effective triggers per second), when my firestorms are so frequent that the initial impact of my first meteor hasn't hit yet, and the 4th meteor is in the air, and it is overwriting the first one due to "Maximum 3 Firestorms at a time".

So my questions

Is this happening? Can you overwrite/clip Firestorms or are you guaranteed the first impact regardless? (Would selfcast Firestorm reach these levels?)

If it is happening, I assume there isn't a stat that would increase the travel speed of the meteor. The skill doesn't count as a projectile, so projectile speed is moot, but would cast speed have any effect? Action Speed increase from Tailwind? (I realize I would need to adjust my calcs to not gimp my trigger rate)

Thanks for your help. If there isn't anything I can do about this, then I am going to have to find out what the trigger rate is that allows every meteor to impact, but that kinda sucks, given that Firestorm is already a subpar skill, so putting a ceiling on the number of triggers feels bad. Would be a non issue if GGG would increase the number of Firestorms, or make it so that the initial meteor impact is guaranteed. Feels almost like a bug

has this been answered somewhere....

You can have up to 3 "areas" that spawn meteors periodically. Creating another area removes the first area, but the meteors that have already been spawned will keep falling until they hit.
Is it possible to replace Firestorm visual effect with the one that Crater map boss is using, where meteors fall vertically?

Currently, they fall from the camera direction, and depending on where you cast it relative to your position, the large meteor may cover more than half of screen for a split second. This is really hard on the eyes, creating a "refocusing" effect, and the only reason I cannot use this skill.
