no need to slow dead things + I'd need a 5L then for GMP. SA has so many arrows for free :)

I'm using your formula to calculate the best C possible with maps, but i have a question:

How are you multiplying stuff ?

You do like, 100 x 80% so it's = 100x80 that it's equal to 8000 or the other kind of multiplication ?

Here's some example on how the equation would be on a +90 iiq / +50 iir map:

Like this ?

C = (1+[88/100]) * (1+[436/100])
C = [(1.88)*90] * [(5.36)*50]
C = ([1.88]*90) * ([5.36]*50)
C = (1.692) * (2.68)
C = 4.534

(The values got lower lol)
I can't remember how to do the 100*1.x thing, i SUCK at math, i can't remember whats the difference in both cases,

thats the only info i need to continue with the experiment xD
(Btw would you recommend using a Carcass Jack or a Greed's Embrace for more profit ?
[Since i'm planning to get all the Area nodes on the tree with my build])

100 * 80% is not 100 * 80

It is 100 * 0.8 = 80

Your example is not quite correct. Your Map iiq/iir values are too high, they should be 0.90 and 0.50 but the result is correct.

But the calculation example also states the character has 88iiq and 436iir.

However I need some clarification on the "C" calculation as I can't work it out based on Serleth's latest post and the original on page 17.

I haven't read any of them up until now as I wasn't really that bothered.

But I'm assuming that the map IIQ and IIR are multiplicative.
Base Quantity and Rarity is 1 (or 100%).
Percentages are represented as decimals (100% = 1, 50% = 0.5 etc)

CQ = C Quantity
CR = C Rarity
PQ = Player Quantity
MQ = Map Quantity
PR = Player Rarity
MR = Map Rarity

CQ = PQ x MQ
CR = PR x MQ
C = CQ x CR

Using values of:

Player - 20Q 200R
Map - 40Q 20R

CQ = 1.2 * 1.4 = 1.68
CR = 3 * 1.2 = 3.6
C = 1.68 * 3.6 = 6.048

What i meant is that i will receive less drop chance in maps than in boss farming.

Supposing that i run a 90 more items and 40 rarity map (corrupted ones).

I still don't think that my math was made right there. That's what i was talking about =)

I linked Item Rarity gem into my PA bow, but I am not seeing increased IIR on Misc tab of my character, it is still 157 with or without this gem. How is rarity from gem calculated, or how can I estimate how much rarity it adds to overall value?

The most common reason that players don't see it is they forget to click the skill in the tab that the IIR gem is linked to.

Click on your PA in the skills section of your character sheet, then go to misc.



On to catching up about the math calculations, then I'll reply to that.

As for Carcass Jack vs Greed's Embrace, I'm going to go all teacher-mode and let you factor the chest into your own calculations after I explain how this works =D

Alright, so let's break it down.

First, let's discuss adding the map IIQ/IIR.

Map IIQ and IIR is multiplicative with your base values. Using taxation as an example, let's say you pay $100 for an item, and there's a 5% tax on that item. In order to get the amount of tax that you are going to pay, you need to do $100 * (5/100) [this is how you convert percentages], which is another way of saying $100 * 0.05 = $5.

But there's a simpler way to do this to get the total cost, which is why those C calculations have the 1+(IIR/100). Just add 1.

$100 * (1+(5/100) or $100 * (1+0.05) or even simpler just $100 * 1.05 = $105.

In short, take your percentage, move the decimal place over 2 to the left (equivalent to dividing by 100), and add one. 5 >> 0.05 >> 1.05.

SO!

The base calculation for getting C outside of maps is C = (1+[IIQ/100]) * (1+[IIR]/100).

Now to add the map IIR, you would use the exact same principle for adding the map percentages. In this case, we have 90q and 50r, on base mf values of 88/436.

The important thing to note here is that you need to apply the map IIQ/IIR values before you make the conversion to the C variable

Breaking it down FULLY.

Outside of maps, your C variable is:

C = (1+[88/100]) * (1+[436/100])
C = 1.88 * 5.36
C = 10.07

1. First we get take our base IIQ and IIR, and multiply it by the map rolls. Remember, to apply 90% immediately to a calculation, we move the decimal over two places, and add one, so mathematically it will appear as 1.9.

88 * 1.9 = 167.2.
436 * 1.5 = 654

2. Now we apply it into the C variable calculation as normal.

C = (1+[167.2/100]) * (1+[654/100])
C = 2.672 * 7.54
C = 20.14

3. This is a very important distinction to make, to do your multiplicative map Q/R before the C variable. Because if you do it afterwards:

C = (1+[88/100]) * (1+[436/100])
C = (1.88 * 1.9) * (5.36 * 1.5)
C = 3.572 * 8.04
C = 28.718

Totally fucks it up.

I've left it partially broken down so you can kind of see how the math is working out for the base calculations.

All you have to do is input your character's MF, then the map roll, and you can see what the result is. =D
