[outdated] Caustic Arrow Solo Map MFer (20/300+)

Not a silly question at all.

Few reasons:

* I want to see how it handles with the additional range all melee weapons got as per the patch notes:

"
Increased the range of all melee weapons. This is also a significant buff to the radius of Cyclone.

* I'm also going to be swapping skills around between Blade Flurry and Reave in order to get a good cross comparison, so daggers make sense for both the latter skills if I find Cyclone isn't cutting it. I've planned for support sockets to be identical for all the skills (Skill, Faster Attacks, Melee Phys, Crit Multi, AoE / Conc swap, Fortify) so it allows me to switch at will and get a feel.
* Lastly, the tree itself is fairly flexible. I can move to claws or swords fairly easily if want to putz around with it, but going daggers makes the most sense for switching skills around.

Hey guys... dunno if anyone is still around to remember me... I was pretty active in here back in February thru April... 2.1 thru 2.2...

Stumbled onto Breach release yesterday and am thinking about returning for another league or 2... was wondering if this build has changed much in the last 2-3 leagues

Greetings, and welcome back. The build has not changed much in the last few updates. And as always if you have specific questions as you are leveling or playing the build just ask, and someone will get back to you.

Do you think a CI build is viable for Cyclone Raider?
Pathfinders were doing it for BV, no reason you couldn't as Raider, but you'll be doing it at the cost of the duelist frenzy charge.

Hi! I got a weird inkling to try out a Scion bow build and was originally going to do a homebrew Deadeye/Chieftan until I saw this thread. Since I love me some Chaos DoT damage, this seemed like a fun thing to try.

I've read the past 15 pages or so but couldn't find the answers to some questions I had about this build (mostly modifying it away from MF and toward full content clears). Apologies if these have been asked before.

-Chaos Inoculation instead of Life. Is it viable? The ES passive a from Occulist seem like they're going to waste if I'm not touching ES at all.
-Working Barrage in. A Delirium weapon and quiver + Barrage + Poison Support and then the usual chaos support suspects sounds devastating on paper. Anyone tried something like that to handle the big bads?

Thanks!
I haven't tried it with Delerium, but as far as CI goes you'll want to go full-tilt Occultist.

For that, I recommend something more along the lines of Yoji's CI CA setup (which yes, is viable, but forewarning: CA isn't that great compared to other setups for things like Guardians/Shaper, even in full deeps mode). So it depends what your goals are. If you want to be pushing above T13, you're best off investigating another skill.

Maybe the Delerium effect would be enough to start pushing that content? I'm not sure. I haven't tried it myself and this league I'm staying away from CA (at least for now) so I won't be able to personally report back on it.

Keep checking this thread though. Hank or Chrono might have more feedback to provide in that regard.

My experience with Breach:

Originally I was planning on rolling Detonate Dead - leveling mainly with Firestorm. Progress was OK but I struggled big time with Breaches. It got to the point where I'd certainly die if I were to open a Breach. For this and other reasons I decided to try Ancestral Warchief once more.

AW has been far, far better - leveling is a least twice as fast and Breaches are now fun - I do all of them I find.

So, in this regard, Serleth was right - the Breach mechanic punishes builds that cannot clear quickly and/or take hits from mobs.

Still - now that I've switched to AW, the league is pretty fun for me. Hope you guys are also enjoying it.
Running as CA I'm having a decent time interacting with the breach mechanic. I am running two elements differently than the build guide. I took Primal Spirit over Soul Siphon (With the changes to map mods I wanted to see how these two nodes would play, also flask charge recovery) and I run 1 Quicksilver flask and 1 Quartz flask (with the full Acro/Phase). During open breaches I can move around freely, and keep damage concentrated in areas I can manage. I only assume it will become easier as I max my lightning res, and finish off my gem levels. So far on this build it is a fun challenge to interact with the breaches.

High DPS, or AFK/Tank builds will have a better time of it for sure. One of my friends is also running a AW totem build, and playing with him does make clearing the monsters from the breach that much easier.
I've been leveling with Lightning Tendrils... I think I much preferred Spark back in 2.2... Tendrils pretty much means facetanking... haven't had too much trouble with Breaches in normal a1-a3 yet, but I imagine that will change in cruel... can't wait to reach the CA stage of the build again... probably try one of the other leveling options next time I play this build
