[outdated] Caustic Arrow Solo Map MFer (20/300+)

Is Carcass Jack still necessary or we can replace it with a good resistance body armor now?
Thanks,

Thanks,

Carcass is still BiS. But it's never been a requirement.

Hi, ty for build. Q. about farshot: which distance counts - between player and hit's target in shot moment or between player&cloud in every moment?

Target and the origin of the shot.

So if X is you, Y is your target, and Z is your new position after moving:

X______Z_______Y

The damage will scale based on the relationship between X & Y.

Then idk, if u have very wide screen, ranger would be better. U get aoe, fast&deadly node, more dmg...

There's a difference between the way Ranger's Far Shot, and Scion's Far Shot (which is part of the Deadeye Scion) is worded:

Ranger: Projectile attacks (aka, "projectile attack damage", which does NOT scale CA ground damage)
Scion: Projectiles (any projectile, aka "projectile damage," which scales CA ground damage).

This means that Ranger is inefficient because to get to Endless Munitions, you need to go through Far Shot, which does not scale the CA cloud damage in the Ranger version of Deadeye.

Hence, Scion. -15% chaos res to cursed enemies = multiplicative damage boost, AoE from +arrow, 30% increased damage, etc.

Ranger only gives you +arrow and 30% increased damage.

First is covered in FAQ

Crimsons are your best bet. Reasons why are covered in the nested spoiler under 2.2 Scion Tree.

Regarding pierce chance, we get:
* 50% from Deadeye
* 10% from Drillneck
* 40% from Piercing Shots nodes

With 100% Pierce Chance, I don't think it would be of any use to support Frenzy with Chain gem. Pierce is rolled before Chain, so no projectile will Chain, ever.

Instead, I would suggest adding LMP as fifth link. So: Frenzy + GMP + LMP + CoH + Vulnerability.

Also, since Pierce Gem gives 50% Pierce Chance, we can respec out of Piercing Shots nodes (3 points) and substitute it with Gem.

Pierce gives 29% more damage at level 20 - same as Slower Projectiles, yet with no drawbacks.

Wow, I completely forgot to update the gem links section in the midst of all the pre-launch discussions going on. So, I'll explain it here and then addend the OP.

First, good point regarding Chain for Frenzy.

To the latter though, that's not optimal. For levelling, sure, if you get your hands on a Drillneck early, but in a finished build, we're using (1) CA - (2) Conc Effect - (3) Void Manipulation - (4) Rapid Decay - (5) Empower - (6) IIR.

Meaning we'd only be at 60% Pierce without Piercing Shots. Hence, we still get it. The 40% increased damage from utilizing the gem, in additional the multiplicative damage boost it now provides, is still not enough to cover off the additional damage gained from running Empower in conjunction with all the other multipliers already present in the link chain, even if you managed to recover those three nodes for an additional jewel slot and a quad-damage jewel.

To give you damage values, in a completed build with a 21 CA and Empower 3 utilizing the above gem links provided, we get 58,696 dps.

Dropping to 60% pierce chance and throwing in the Pierce gem where Empower sits, you get 50,787.

Now let's throw in that extra quad damage jewel and assume an average of 11% per affix (44% total increased): 54,334 dps.

In other words, your best case scenario using Pierce over Empower 3 is a net dps loss of roughly 4k.

Make it an Empower 4 instead, and the difference is closer to 8k.
