How useful is a 20% quality PA gem? I'm aware that level is more important, so I try to trade one lvl 20 20%Q gem, but I don't know if it's worth it.

The fortunate thing about this build and the gems used is you can get away without needing quality on any of them. It's all just QoL stuff

In the case of Conc, AoE, and Slower Proj, each provides 10% increased damage at 20% quality, for a total of 30% increased damage. So you can use the vendor recipe and just relevel those gems and you're fine.

Same goes for IIR, in that you can just recipe that to 20%.

Quality on PA itself is just QoL: it's increased area of effect (10% @ 20% qual). It's not necessary but it's definitely helpful to have it.

You can pick up a 20/20 corrupted PA for 15-20 chaos. Pretty cheap, and worth the investment until you can vaal your own successfully to 21/20.

Hello guys, I've been playing a LA arrow up to lvl79 but been slowly getting interested of the poison arrow setups. I was thinking of respeccing for it and buying a +2 bow, lvl2 empower and lvl20 poison arrow to start with. Would this be viable or would my dmg go down too much compared to my current LA setup?

Also how's the PA for grouping? I often play with my 2 friends and I see people mostly opting for this just as a solo build..

Mostly Im interested of this because of the MF possibilities (never played a MF char before) and the versability (For example reflect maps not being a problem like they are currently for me)

I too played LA (crit), but some leagues ago. Imo it's only worth with Windripper or Voltaxic, depending on what your goal is and how you want to achieve it.

Now for PA, with my actual setup (nothing overly fancy, just a 5L bow, no quality gems, LOT of room for improvement) I still can contribute well to group play like Zana 7+ rotations and high maps. The creator of this build even clears the highest maps, but he has much better gear and a mechanical skill of playing, too.

Yes we don't play cyclone or SRS, but we do just fine in groups too!

Now if you really are buying a lvl 20 PA gem make sure its not corrupted for a chance at a lvl 21 one. This build evolves around gem levels, that's why we aim for +3 bows and Empower to get those sweet PA levels.

For map mods, we do all except the no-regen and BM ones, I avoid temp / chilled / -max just out of convenience, they are doable for sure. Reflect is no problem at all.

Edit: if you don't aim for a magic finder build, I fear you have to look for another guide or adapt the parts with MF towards survivability or clearspeed.

a) It's difficult to know without seeing stats
b) It's most effective as a solo build but it will still contribute fairly well in parties, particularly smaller party sizes. Three-man party is fine.

As a small correction to Chronodroid's statement re: map mods: the build can still do Blood Magic and No Regen, it just means you're going to have to play a lot more carefully without Grace (BM) and run mana flasks instead of Quicksilver or Granite (NR). Imho it's not really worth the hassle unless you get 80% IIQ or better out of the map as a whole.

Unfortunately I went through my entire stash of chromes trying to get BBBGG. I got BBRGG twice but was trying for the IIR gem rather than empower. Probably a mistake. Oh well. I will save up more chromes and try again and be happy with the first one of those two I get heh.

I'm hoping this will up my cloud DPS considerably, as well as let me leach again and allow me to craft some resistance into it.

in case you hit BBRGG again, throw in iron grip if you don't have a lvl 2 empower.

Will do, I do have a level 1 empower but its nowhere near level 2, heh.

It sucks looking back on the excitement I had purchasing that +2 bow for 5c (to me a good deal) last night and going through all those chromes. I probably went through 250 of them. That's probably the equivalent of just purchasing an already nice BBBGG 5L +2 bow heh. Although I have no idea how many chromes to chaos in warbands right now. Oh well, you live and you learn.

I do have "3 blue sockets" master crafting but my luck is so poor when it comes to that stuff in this game that I probably owuld have gotten BBBRG and I would have been out a bunch. But, after all that I am out a bunch anyway. Was trying to play the odds and lost. :) oh well.
