Havoc leveled to 100 as a Scion PA in the Tempest League. His skill tree is:


I'm also playing as a Scion PA, but in the Warbands League. My tree is pretty similar to Havoc's.


Note that Havoc's tree contains a lot of life nodes which you won't need if you're in Warbands/Softcore and are focusing on magic find.

Note too that both Havoc and I have gone very gem-heavy, dropping the Corruption damage over time wheel to pick up additional gems.

In my case I run 8 gems. This allows me a lot of flexibility in my gear. Currently I'm simply running level 68-70 maps doing magic find. So I'm using my gems to make up for resists and equipping tons of IIR/IIQ stuff. My DPS is more than sufficient for this content with a level 20 PA, level 2 Empower in a 5-link +3 bow.

But if you want to drop 2 gems you can take the Corruption wheel if you like for slightly more DPS at the cost of flexibility.

I feel like +3 Bows are pretty expensive in Standard atm. Seems like I'm not able to get a +3 Bow with at least 1 Prefix left below 40ex (not even 6-Linked). As I see you can get a pretty good 6L +3 Fire Staff for about 30 ex but no chance in getting a decent +3 Bow for 10 ex?

I followed your guide and im lvl 77 now but i feel like i cant make any mentionable progress regarding gear soon since those +3 bows are that expensive. You got any advice? The damage is quiet ok though, can do 70/71 maps pretty fast.

With that setting, 16k tooltip chaos/s [7 frenzy charges]. But now I understand why we need extra mana, every shot consumes 51 right now with 5 support gems. Doing -40/60% mana regen gonna be slow :)

First off i want to thank you for this amazing guide, been playing this for a bit now after having the luck of my life making a bow, and im really loving it so far!

I found this guide in the start of the league, but quickly put it down due to never being able to afford a +3 6l bow, but last week i got hold of a ilvl 83 harbinger, and figure why not...after spending 800+ alts on it, i gave up on that, and decided to link it just for fun. Took 17 jewelers to 6s, and 7 fusings to 6l (!!). I was blown away by that luck, but figured i'd keep going while it was still hot, so i started spamming chaos on it, and after 12c used (!!), i got this baby!



Currently lvl 80 and having a blast, cant wait to get to 90'ish and try this out on Atziri.
Only downside is that i have to level Leo...which sucks so hard. lol

WOW, WOW :D I thought that I was lucky to 6L my bow with less than 400 fuss. But you just broke the game :) And craft +2/+1 witch 12 c? Maaan, don't play at casino or at lottery anymore, you just spent all of your RNG luck right now :)

ok so i bought a better bow, couldn t make perfect socket colours, im now at 4k dmg per second but still not even close to 18k. Any idea with lvl 19 gems and 20 qGems how much dmg per second could i reach? sorry i cant post items because i dont know how yet.. :)

I see since you've posted that you've got a +2 bow now which is good. Gem level is critical to PA damage, you'll see around 16k or so dps in a finished build with a level 20 PA gem and a +3 bow. So as far as damage goes, +3 is your priority.

I would also re-colour your bow to use Iron Grip if you aren't going to be running with Increased Area of Effect. A 20/20 IG will add 48% projectile damage.

The difference between a level 17 gem and a level 20 gem is where your big difference is going to come. You should hit somewhere around 8-9k with a level 20 PA I believe, even without Drillneck.

Tree-wise you're doing fine. It's all about the gem levels and adjusting gear for you (+3 bow, Drillneck). You're well on the way. Just keep plugging away =)

Yeah, Standard mate. It's brutal in terms of exalt expense. But by the same token, exalts are generally cheaper in Standard last I checked, which was about 35:1? So you can get up to 10ex fairly quickly.

Otherwise you're doing quite well. You've got a very nice +2 bow and already Empower 3. Just keep at the farming and you'll get there.
