One-Week Cut-Throat (IV008)

I'm not really into PVP so I never thought about playing this league.
But honestly you don't need to be very smart to understand that, with the current rules, this league makes no sense.

It was fun for about an hour. Then I started getting rolled, repeatedly. It's too much of a bitch to progress when you lose all your shit and are forced to punch things until they die hoping for gear drops just so you can use your skills.

I havent played in a year and am waiting for the next 3-4month league to start.

However, I find that 99% of the people posting on this 18+ page thread are the noobs who the OP commented about in BOLD type. They said you will be griefed 24/7 so deal with it.

They know the system sucks, but if you want to play something before the next league starts then go back to Normal. My favorite reply was someone threatening to leave and not support the game over this :)

This league has been SO MUCH FUN! I live and breathe for cutthroat in PoE and I've been killed several times and I have killed several players.

I saw this suggestion on the poe subreddit, http://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/39ktmf/cutthroat_gave_me_the_best_poe_experiences_so_far/, and it seems pretty good. This guy's suggestion was to add permanent leagues but with a weekly reset of characters and items. I like that idea, since it means people who like cutthroat can play it anytime!

To better clarify my excitement for this league, when I am at work I just can't wait to get back home and play more cutthroat, and when I am home all I play is cutthroat.

Well, since people posting in game forums are almost exclusively those that want to complain, it is extremely suspicious if someone utters praise. He's a troll, most likely. ;)

PvP isn't my shoe, but I think some PvPish short league is a good idea. Heck, why not run events like those on a regular basis. It really doesn't matter how unfair or half-baked PvP is at the moment. As long as enough people are having fun bashing their heads in, let them. Since there are no exclusive items, nobody can claim that he's "forced" to do pvp.

Personally, I would have preferred some one-week pve-alternative for those (like me) that do not even want to try pvp. There are people that do not even play games like Hearthstone because they do not like to play against other players. Some alternative to "play normal or wait for 10 days" would have been nice. But again, it's not like waiting will kill me or make me stop supporting this game or anything. :)

This league can be fun for people who like pvp, but some changes are needed:

- you should lose only one item on death

- level difference shouldn't be higher than 2 or 3 in normal

- unable to trap waypoint/map entrance, maybe add 2-5 second of invulnerability with possibility to move that break if you attack

- we shouldn'tbe able to take waypoint, TP, change map if damaged in the last 5 second, most time I've invade someone (even at same level) they just run to waypoint/next map/TP. That was not fun at al (but I ve done it too, problem come from losing all items probably)

So, the play for my 40th level char is over.

League is dead. In 3d Act normal I found that no one invades me, there were like 4-5 ppl on Europe. So boring.

Got to the cruel to finish my puncture-trap build to find that there are no victims to test it on. Switched to US gateway with freakin high ping just in hope to yolo someone and get a kill or get killed. Because there were no fun last 4-5 hours of play. I literally forced myself to play; the more time passed from start, more levels behind, the league dies.

So, I facerolled some glacial cascade templar and died. Also I want to mention that being not a caster sucks. Everybody have 0 resists at start, so they'r freezing and shocking extremely effectively. Later when switching to Cruel you got resists lowered, its hard to keep them at cap. This should be examined somehow. Seriously, make a caster and enjoy your gear non-dependant build with ton of elemental dmg.

I wanted to make another char and go with friend, but now I heavily doubt it. And it is not because I'm sad of dying and lost my gear. I was dead anyway since I decided not to progress further than 40. Sooner or later I'd became extremely bored trying to invade someone who pops out like once in a hour.

So much fun at lower levels and so much sadness on higher.

So, the league is broken somehow. I'm not sure how it can be fixed.
