Any Gay Players?
" OK pal, this is me, the BAD Egg. I'm Australian and damned proud of it - which means I speak my mind! !. This is a good and decent community we have here. I personally (as, obviously, do others) am complimented that you felt comfortable enough to make the original post. 2. YOU ARE NOT A DAMNED SPECIAL CASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We'd react to any civil and well written post in exactly the same wy. 3. WE DON'T KNOW YOU, HAVE NEVER MET YOU AND IN ALL PROBABILITY NEVER WILL... You ran head-on and at full speed into the most decent and responsible community I've seen on the 'net. You're surprised? So was I when I joined CB back in 2011. Get used to us. If we don't like what you say we'll tell you. Or the moderators will. 4. You wanted one thing, which was contact. You got welcome and support as a bonus. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THAT? I'm making allowances here because you're new. That's something of which we've all been guilty. There are a lot of people who play PoE but only a small number actually post. Be one of them. I stand by my original reply to your thread. Welcome to PoE and to the forums. | |
Eggy, I swear, if I wasn't already engaged.... XD

>dont treat this like a special case
>creates special thread about the issue its same as >we wanna be equal to everyone >lets have gayparade dont take this as some kind of attack, im not homophobic i couldnt care less about other ppls sexuality, i just dont understand this |

" Second time I have seen you complain about this, so I'll see if I can try and shed some light on it for you. :) Parades are a way to show solidarity while we try to gain equality. And try is the operative word- in many places, despite efforts to gain equal legal standing, we are still second class citizens. Being seen in public is a way to make people understand that we aren't going to vanish if people ignore us- something which a lot of people would probably like. :( Yes, it's not to everyone's taste (mine included) but it's no different to any other group joining together to support each other. I imagine they will get less and less common once real equality is achieved- kind of like the Suffragette rallies that went along with the women's rights movements. hmmm i might be wrong here but it seems alot of misunderstandings are happening here.
Its my beliefs that this thread was just a way to look for likeminded induviduals. Not to pose a parade. or to seek some form of attention. And yes there is still work to be done on "legalisation" and public stigmata. I dont see myself as Gay. but more of an experimental person. And i can totally understand the problems people go with in daily life and even on a personal level. Family even. . . This thread is in the Offtopic section as it should. and nothing wrong with it. If you wish for a key? pray to the allmighty Keysus. If you want a speedy Blessing? Donate to the church of Keysus and ye shall receive a Blessing. *Disclaimer- This is now a vintage saying* Last edited by xreasonz#4118 on Feb 9, 2013, 5:39:41 PM

Yeah, my best friend is gay and he plays quite a lot.
Won't name him since i don't know if he'd want to, but we're part of a gaming community where everyones quite open about this stuff. I think It's mostly just not brought up because.. well.. Who really cares about someones sexuality when playing a game. Usually if you do really make friends through gaming you'll get to the personal life talk eventually, but not much during random grouping. |

It's not the OP's fault at all he wasn't looking for any recognition if anything it's mine for suggesting he make a group. My point wasn't to start a debate about gay rights but more to say that if there was a group of people of any type that feel that they want to group together in game or on this forum then they should feel free to create a group. Apologies if anyone misunderstood that!

Don't get me wrong, all I meant was there is no need to handle this topic carefully. Of course I appreciate the defensive words for me and any other gay individual, but phrases like
"makes me feel a bit uncomfortable :/ Eggy, I can't really tell what point you are trying to make with " because that's basically an explanation to what I have already pointed out in my last 2 posts. And trust me, I'm not 'new', I've been on the internet for a lotta years. |

" Pretty much this. Great thread. Love that it was made. Aware it could easily have drawn negative attention. Foolish to think otherwise. Stunned it really didn't. Upset the OP felt that all this positive attention was worth chastising. Moving on. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.
Looking forward to Ascending in PoE2...someday. |

I don't consider myself gay, even though I AM attracted to guys, I just don't want to label myself anything besides human. I know it may seem silly, but that's the way I want to live. I don't know my future, but I know it's possible for me to fall in love with someone regardless of their gender.
(Don't let the A in my name fool you, I'm a guy.) Like a flame in the dark, I attract the unknown
