Enki's Arc Witch Memorial Page

I have a little question, I am currently using a Cerberus Limb as weapon, and I can't manage to find another sceptre, including Doryani's Catalyst, that would increase my single target shaper DPS on PoB.

I know it's better to scale elemental/lightning damage and penetration for inpulsa's explosion, but I don't struggle at all for clearing maps. The only time I feel lacking some DPS is on solo boss.

Should I trust PoB and stay with Cerberus Limb because of its strong 17% cast speed and 119% cumulated spell/elemental increased damage until I can afford a weapon worth many exalts ?

To search for sceptre, I am using the link of poetrade in 'how to buy cheap gear', which display most of the time shaped sceptre with inc. ele/lightning damage, added lightning damage to spells, and/or penetration. Most of them lower my shaper DPS on PoB when I copy/paste their affixes, even ones worth 1ex.

It's a stat stick. You can craft a better scepter than even Doryani's, especially in Delve League. (Some posters in this thread have linked their creations, so take a second to browse through the thread for them.)

Don't forget stacking other damage elements on Jewels and gear, either. Cast speed, penetration, shock modifiers, are all useful. (See Enki's comments/section on gear, jewels, jewelry, etc)

Try to get a good ilevel scepter and gather the necessary Delve crafting materials. (Spend a few chaos on the crappiest rolled, yet high ilevel, scepter you can find with the intent of using it as a crafting base.) Use Poedb to figure out the best combinations of Fossils for Delve crafting. You can also use Poeaffix/Poedb to figure out what affixes are available on a suitable ilevel scepter and then use traditional crafting to try to get those. Don't forget Essence Crafting, as well, though the best for our purposes are probably limited to jewelry slot Essence Crafting.

Scepters have good intrinsics and affix availability for this build. But, I suppose it could be possible to use a different one-hand weapon. (I really am not sure on that.) The dependency there is that we use Ahn's shield, so we're limited to a one-hand weapon in this build, and we use Shield Rush, which denies us the ability to use a Wand, since Shield Rush is a Melee Attack.
It looks like a toss up to me between Cerberus and Doryani's for DPS. Two fairly maxed rolls means a 10% cast speed loss countered by increased elemental damage. For me, it was a slight loss going to Doryani's. Possible benefit then is the 0.2% life leech. But then you lose the increased Energy Shield that you get from using Cerberus w/ Ahn's. Kind of all a toss up. Crafted sceptre can do better but takes a lot of currency to buy or time/currency to craft.
@ckjh
Looks like you've already changed to a different build. Just for the record: Essence Worm + Wrath + Leech Watchers + a good second ring would most likely outdamage that setup you were running, although would have to compare it in Path of Building. It's also way more reliable, as curses can be countered in many ways.

@blg_RealiZe
It's correct, with the shield corruption phys damage will also proc the Paragon damage & defense buff. Don't think you have anything left to realistically upgrade, only thing would be a shaped helmet with Arc chain enchant, if you can manage to get Wise Oak balance with that. For jewel comparison, import the jewels to pob and write down fully buffed Shaper DPS without shock, calculate your final shock damage increase with either choice and then multiply those DPS values with that.

I've added Clear Mind to the guide. Didn't want to mention it initially since a rare jewel would be overall better, but given how the jewel market looked this league it's actually a decent option in comparison.

@Bowarion
Switch Sorrow of the Divine for a regular Sulphur Flask, the former is directly hurting your char more than helping. Other gear looks alright, get that 6L Inpulsa next and then follow the Upgrade Order Guide from that point.

@maciek2g
Start with fixing your flask setup. The way your life flask is rolled is counterproductive, and an Eternal Life flask is better to begin with so replace that, and replace the Quicksilver with a Basalt. Quality all flasks to 20%, then reroll the magic ones properly. This will already be a huge step to more survivability.

Next you can do is upgrade Pantheon if you haven't yet. Last step is keep Orb of Storms up, as long as the boss is inside its radius you will keep leeching mana. Decoy Totem helps with dragging them into the radius, although not at Guardians since they can't be taunted. So for them, it's all about getting a feel for their abilities and outplaying them. I know that may sound difficult at first, but it's the only way to actually learn the fights.

@fletch101 @ Zankai
Just shows how strong the unique sceptres are. That said, always check against Guardians/Shaper for a more accurate DPS representation, and keep an eye on hit damage instead of just DPS too. Sometimes it's better to do bigger hits in the limited time you're given to burst damage than casting a little faster.

@toks1c
Fairly decent, but you don't seem to have a source of Cold Damage added to Arc, so Hypothermia only works properly while Chill Conflux is up. I'd also recommend switched the second Life Flask for a Wise Oak and rerolling the Basalt, unless you're done with the character anyway.

@tirshea
You can ignore the prolif gem in Catalyst, we already have global prolif from our Ascendancy.

@MotionBlur
Lightning Penetration is better, you will notice that once you meet enemies or bosses with higher resistances. You can read the section about Lightning Penetration in the Gem section for more information.

@Инсектор
The videos were recorded with a very highend setup, you can find its gear in the Path of Building below the videos. Check out the new Upgrade Order Guide i've wrote to figure out where to go from now, just two small hints are Lv21 Arc and farm a boot enchant. Guardians shouldn't be any issue with your setup tho, it were either the mapmods or just lack of experience with the fight.

@babak4121
You're missing 2x Fragility jewels to gain Onslaught from Ahns. Also drop Herald of Ice, it does nothing for this build. YOur Flask Setup also needs lots of work, replace The Overflowing Chalice with a regular Sulphur Flask and the second Life FLask with a Basalt Flask, quality them all and get the Alchemist cluster. From there on, keep following the new Upgrade Order Guide.

@juggernautzzz
The base curse limit is 1, so unless you have a source of "Enemies can have 1 additional Curse" it will keep overriding Enfeeble. The other thing is that bosses have huge less curse effect, so without lots of investment most of the DPS curses are pretty useless where they would be actually needed, and that investment is better put into just regular damage or survivability instead for us.

@Earthslug
If you place your Orb of Storms so that it can hit the boss or pack it should proc EO pretty quickly, can also use Decoy Totem to drag them inside. Inc Crit Strikes shouldn't be needed, but you can give it a try as Mana Leech replacement. Other good options are Blind, Culling Strike or Increased AoE.

@rhallenborg
There's no actual breakpoints, more of a personal preference based on boss skill timings. I find that having an even number of casts makes it easier to predict when you can move, instead of being locked into two additional casts. The other upside is that you can invest those additional passives or affixes into other damage affixes instead, which may make the difference to pop a whole screen including rares and beyond bosses with a single skill use due to proper Inpulsa scaling, especially noticeable in Delves. But you can technically also go for a value between 5-6 casts, as you can see it does feel smoother for some.

@Bodomi
Since fossil crafting is no option, I think you should just look for a decent ilvl shaped helmet base with a good enchant and then try to craft it, shouldn't be too hard to get atleast one of the stats with good other stats. Alternatively, you could try out the Spiritual Aid setup i'm currently testing for 3.5, that would allow you to use a shaped Bone Helmet if that's any cheaper.

That could also be an incentive to plan for triple Wise Oak balance and then replace your Hybrid with a Wise Oak and use the Alchemist nodes, this will result in a huge damage and survivability boost.

@EricGunnar
There is a full Path of Building section even, however you still need to read the Notes Tab and ideally also the guide to understand everything.

@Kirian42
The damage issue comes mostly from your Lv19 Arc, should be Lv20 already at that tier of maps. I'd recommend getting the shadow attack & cast speed nodes instead of Coldhearted Calculation, also switch the Quicksilver with a Basalt Flask and if you haven't yet, upgrade Pantheon. The next step will be a leech Watcher's Eye and then Lv21 Arc.

@Ukanta
This build always chills with Beacon of Ruin and atleast 1 cold damage added to Arc, crits are not required. Mobs can have multiple ailments and also receive multiple ailments in a single hit, as long as all requirements are given. Crown of the Tyrant is pretty interesting, but the loss of 3 sockets will hurt and not sure how big the nearby radius is on this item. Loreweave is a bad idea, you'd actually lose lots of single target damage from shock effect and cast speed, the elemental damage on it barely matches up the "damage if you've shocked recently" and you lose the shock immunity. Properly scaled Inpulsa explosions are also on another level than what Arcs default clearing abilities can provide. As for your last point, that's because you've left on the shock and chill options while that Inquisitor setup won't be able to reliable chill, nor shock for 50% at all.

@HincaK
Unfortunately not, this is a noncrit build and we also use Sceptres to be able to use Shield Charge. For a Void Battery witch build, check out some Occultists which may be using that.

Thanks to everyone who's taking their time to answer some questions, sorry if i've repeatedly answered something. If you can't find a response to your question here, then that means someone else had already answered it.

Hey I have a stupid question I guess but how do I read this guide?

https://pastebin.com/r3EEZjCa

I dont get the explanation..
Hi guys! i really wanted to play self cast arc right for the start of this league so i decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately when i saw the inpulsa +1 and the emp +4 it really discouraged me to try it out.
Before people attack me for not reading the gear section i did, for the most part.. I know that it isn't necessary but for most end-game content IS. its just the way arc works , not the best ST but strong clear.

So instead i rerolled a scion -> elementalist -> raider.

There are lots of comments here and some1 probably did this but searching 600+ pages seems endless.
So this is my PoB (https://pastebin.com/xjZXmydw).

My question is the "Chilling" effect for the hypothermia gem. Since iam not an witch(elementalist) do i reliably "chill" bosses for it to work? I have a jewel that gives cold damage to spells btw.

I enchanted my command of the pit gloves and got Trigger Commandment of Spite on Hit. I wonder if I could get rid of cwdt Cold snap now? Seems like a good enchant and a decent option, could really expand the build.

That is a text file meant for you to use to import into the program "Path of Building."

https://github.com/Openarl/PathOfBuilding

https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1716360

Once you install Path of Building, start the application and click on the Import/Export Build button. You'll be taken to a dialogue window with some choices. At the bottom right, you will see "Import from Pastebin." Copy the full pastebin link and then past it there. But, you still have to tell the application to import that as you're just providing the link, here. So, then click the "Import" button which is at the bottom left of that dialogue box.

Save the new build, once it loads, as something descriptive so you can remember it. ie: Enki Arc Witch.

Now you have a full tree and lots of tools to explore the build with. Later, if you're on PC, you can also import your character's current build and then experiment with making changes.

Path of Building has more accurate calculations for many things than are available through the game client interface.
