Enki's Arc Witch Memorial Page
@Enki91
I had an idea. Since you seem to be one of the most active and engaged forum members of a game they have a passion for in a very long time. I wondered if this would pique your interest. I notice that people (like me) come into your beginners guide build thread and ask for ideas about other, somewhat un-traditional and unconventional builds. How would you feel about making a separate thread dedicated to making the "most" out of such builds? Perhaps you and a few other staunch members of the game, could help players make the most of their whacky theory craft builds, perhaps even bring them to the level of "conventional" builds to fly in the face of "Build Diversity in POE is an illusion." This is just a spur of the moment idea and I totally understand if you don't have the time. But the idea is there now, and germinating. It would also keep this beginners guide thread clean of theory craft wannabes (like myself) to give more time to the "Absolute Beginners" (Credit David Bowie: RIP). Until next time. So I'm following this build and it's fun as hell. I do have one issue though, I can't tell if you took Mind Over Matter in the first Act or not. I am second guessing if I messed up or not because I did end up taking it. I haven't read too far ahead but is it safe to use a reset on it?

" But without chest I would lose lot of armour, evasion and energy shield. +24% resistance on all elements and +100 life and mana gained on kill. Both rings grants me lot of element resistance too. Gloves grant me that arc will cost me 100 mana so I can make use of Kitava but also grants me 248% energy shield. Belt gives me lot of damage, armour, resistance and leech lightning damage as heal. Boots grants me also elemental resistances and lot of armour and energy shield. Do I really have to change everything? Lot of thanks for your fast answers! :) |

After trying 2 other guides and them failing, I stumbled upon yours and it is by far the most friendly, thought out and, competent guide I've tried thus far. I appreciate you taking the time to explain everything so thoroughly and in depth.

I'm really enjoying this build and appreciate the leveling guide detail as even though I've played before I still consider myself a complete newbie.
I've just hit level 75 and I'm wondering if I could get some general advice on my character: https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/Khallach/characters I've been holding off Mind Over Matter because I didn't see it specifically mentioned for when to pick it up but I'm guessing that might be the first thing I need to pick up. what u think about Pratical application? gives dex/str who im missing. (passive skillpoint)
and... im using fevered mind but my arc for example is costing 188 and my mana regen is 133/second, what u think is a good way to fix it (pledge of hands 6link is impossible to me now) im using now one staff 6L. with spell echo than faster casting. use a pledge of hands 5link without faster casting is ok? my arc will cost 100+ with it? or only when 6link? chaos resistence ideal is how much? negative is so badly/dangerous? if u can see and give me some tips, im needing, its my first char ever (i dont played poe before that) Last edited by guVzera#3935 on Sep 5, 2017, 11:17:57 AM

@Bhaladas: It's a good idea, but i simply don't have the time to do that on a large scale.
I also fear that too many people would request those everything for nothing builds due to having unrealistic expectations from watching a streamer or having played a meta build before, and that's just not how i approach builds since in most cases it's just not possible. @Morpheen: Yeah you gotta spec out of Mind over Matter for now, we use our mana pool to have curses on Blasphemy during leveling since Kitava's Thirst isn's sustainable at that point, and the damage you receive isn't high enough yet to require MoM. @Newbell: You seem to be under the impression that uniques are always the absolute best in slot items, which isn't true in Path of Exile. There are two types of uniques: some give a specific effect to enable new builds (f.e. Kitava's Thirst, Shavronne's Wrappings etc.) while the others just give solid stats for their expected level usage (f.e. Pledge of Hands, any low level melee uniques etc.). One thing all unique items have in common is they're balanced around having a drawback: this is either a drawback directly on the unique item (f.e. the "Deal no Elemental Damage mod on Starforge) or opportunity cost, either by not being able to use an other powerful item in that slot, missing a good amount of life or energy shield or straight up not being as good as a rare item can be. In your case it's mostly the missing liferoll - all of your gear AND your jewels are unique, but only one of them has a pretty low life roll. It's possible to use a few uniques without life in a lifebased build without hurting survivability too much, but going all out on it is never a good idea except for a few very niche builds (Whispering Ice mostly, but even that changed). If you're missing the very base stat for survivability, you gonna die at some point no matter what. None of the stats you listed there really matter, Armour & Evasion are useless if you aren't properly scaling them and couple them with layered defenses, Energy Shield is useless if you can't get a high enough pool and have a quick way to refill it in battle, plus the 248% ES on Voidbringer are a local increase to the gloves base energy shield, you don't literally get a 248% ES multiplier. Leech is capped at 2% of life per sec, and 20% of life for all active leech instances, everything beyond that is ignored without further leech investment, which is pretty much tied to attack-based leech nodes at the bottom of tree. We can already reach that with Warlord's Mark and Leech gem. Look for good rare items with the recommended stats in their respective section, keep the four recommended uniques, get some rare jewels and a Fevered Mind to proc Kitava's Thirst, roll a proper flask setup and use the actual gem setup of this build, Spark in Kitava's is useless. @Nafuka: Thanks! @Khallach: Gear badly needs some liferolls, i'd also recommend some cheap 5L chest and going for the Kitava's Thirst setup, unless you enjoy the Orb of Storms cursing. Switch lifeflasks with an Eternal Life and Hallowed Hybrid flask, and one Quicksilver with a Basalt. On tree, as you've guesssed Mind over Matter should be next, you're at the point mentioned under Epilogue where you should just finish the base passive tree. @guVzera: Practical Application is ok i guess if you really need both Dex/Str badly and can't get either of them through gear & jewels. I'd have to see your char to give a more proper answer about your mana regen, keep in mind the echoed cast costs no mana and you also get mana leech on top with Warlord's Mark. You can get mana regen on rings, there's also a 25% mana regen node right at witch start which can help, and simply more mana investment on gear since you gain 1.75% of your mana pool as flat mana regeneration, which then gets added together with Clarity and multiplied by all mana regen% mods. Chaos damage in this game is unlike elemental damage balanced around 0% chaos resistance, we get enough chaos res through passives and Ascendandy, if you want you can get one more roll on gear and you're good. twitch.tv/enkivt

u dont ask about pledge of hands 5L
with it my arc will cost more than 100? or only if its 6L? use a pledge of hands 5link without faster casting is good? my dexterity was 44 without items, and in passives i get 50, why? Last edited by guVzera#3935 on Sep 5, 2017, 12:07:23 PM

" 5L Pledge if basically a 6L staff due to the innate Spell Echo support. With a 5L Pledge you still need Fevered Mind, with a 6L you can drop that jewel. Don't really understand what you mean about dex. twitch.tv/enkivt
