Enki's Arc Witch Memorial Page

I've done this build many times and I love playing it so much, but it always struggled with end bosses. Any news on this subject?

Thank you for the guide!

Single target output is much better now with Tendrils for that purpose, even while on a low budget.

Don't you think you should go for Infused "+1 power charge"

With assasin's mark you can get some neat dmg buffing

Not worth it, it's just 50% crit chance for 3 points investment. If you really need the extra conditional crit, you could go through the int node instead of eva+es and take Infused instead of Arcane Focus, but that's something for really high levels then.

started the league with an EK pathfinder. kept dying due to insufficient leech, without atziris/vessel.
So, then decided to give an Arc witch a shot. I forget exactly why.
I was looking at this, and the ball lighting inquisitor guides which are current to put together a build.

started following more or less... then then totally veered off course. (not in a bad way. felt the side path was more stable)

I gave up on arc entirely. I was first leveling with lit trap, and spell totem arc. as Arc doesn't really cut it for leveling. kept telling myself, when arc had more chains, and 4-5l supports it'll be good... but, then when I got ball lightning... And any way I cut it. Ball lighting had more aoe coverage and more single target dps. I EVEN tried using arc to curse on hit, to support ball lightning... but no. Ball lightning+coh+gmp itself... is better..
Fond memories of Arc back in beta.. but yeah..

also, went CI. I started MoM, ZO, and was working over to EB. but, as doing so, I can't really see the benefit of MoM/EB. constantly balancing Chaos damage vs life. and splitting ES regen/leech.
While, going CI, makes 1% life regen.. 1% es regen. 1% of 8k ES is better then 1% of 5k life. then vile bastion, and ghost reaver.
End cry regen, stone golem regen, consecrated ground regen. seems better to just put it all together and manage one huge pool instead of two.
Can get good eva/dodge without acrobatics. stibnite/jade/quartz.. +eva/hybrid es/eva gear. disc/grace.
I imagine you talk about this somewhere in this large thread. haha.

I have a call of the brotherhood I am not using. Should I? whats the value of it? less conversion in 2.6. and why do I even want conversion really? its hurting my lit pen. herald of ice and/or cold added to spells freezes. edit yeah, looking through thread before posting. confirmed what I thought. huge dps loss. no point.

PS. power charges need to be buffed. seems sad, doing an occultist, getting "free" powercharges. and I don't even want to bother getting +1 powercharges I am pathed right next too, in favor of ES, or faster cast, crit multi, spell damage. etc. that 50% increased additive is trivialized by other sources of additive increased crit. 4% spell damage per also doesn't really change the value enough, to justify grabbing other power charge nodes. I am not even sure merc alira is worth it. I mean 1 passive point. could be the 16% witch starter, or an 10% elem node. I think I just answered that myself... its NOT worth it. the passive IS better.

your tree. you went spell damage start. But, 1 passive point. 12% crit multi by heartseeker. Multiple 10% spell damage nodes. by light of divinity, 10% elem by shadow start.
Final build has 3 points for the shadow jewel. those 3+merc bandit passive would give 4 points for arcane potency. 50% crit, 45% crit multi. might be better then the jewel+powercharge.

but yeah, you do the same thing. path next to powercharges and do not get them. clearly something wrong with powercharges.
@Casia: Arc definitely has its flaws when compared to some never skills, but i still really like the feel of it. That being said, it needs its whole leveling progression improved. Kinda sad that i have to recommend not leveling with the actual skill in a beginner-oriented guide.
Still hoping for that treshold jewel to improve single target issues, until then it's best to go with LT for that purpose.

I've decided against CI for the main version since it's still somewhat expensive for someone who's completely new to the game, and also needs more investment in mana sustain to work properly.
But you can build it around CI if you want, or go with one of the alternative CI versions at the bottom of the guide. Especially the Inquisitor is really strong and would let you make use of CotB without its downside. Freezing is really nice to have, eliminates some dangerous stuff like Porcupine spikes on death or DD, and even lets you freezelock most bosses.

I agree about power charges, unless you use some items like Void Battery and/or are Assassin, they're kinda underwhelming nowadays. But we still need some to get enough crit, Merc Alira + Instability require the least investment for that, the others require too many points to be worth it for this build.

Hope i didn't miss anything, was quite a long post after a long gaming session :)

Which build/setup would you recommend for an untwinked beginner?

Edit: Is this build still strong in 2.6? Remember it was pretty meta a while ago.

@iNoScopedRFK: Main version, or maybe the Pledge of Hands Berserker with a rare chest until you can afford Kaom's Heart. Both setups are pretty forgiving and don't take too much investment and/or game knowledge to work properly.

@Rapgano: Which ones in particular? Could you post your gear/tree or make your char tab public so i can take a look?

Here is how I leveled with this build, I'm building a CI dual curse crit arc witch:
1st use freezing pulse up to level 12 and then swap to firestorm, use firestorm up to 24 and when you've saved up some currency, buy reverberation rod (it's super cheap considering you basically get a 4L in a wand), link arc with added lightning and faster casting on it (you can replace added lightning with any support gem you want) and use it up to merciless while tweaking your gear, works wonders for me.

Reverberation wand costs like 1 alch and if you manage to get a 3l, consider yourself lucky. You can even try to get 3l on it yourself, took me 2 jewellers and a fusing to get.

edit: get a vaal storm call asap as it will help greatly with bosses, it's fine if you don't link it to any supports early on because you basically just have to level it
