" I strongly suggest you to follow Enki's advice to swap Arc for Lightning Storm during bossfights, I can assure you it's easier to keep distances and deals more damage. Keep in mind that having the red socket for Empower allows you to swap it for Less duration support, which makes the LS faster. Last edited by Giammafix#2456 on Jan 9, 2017, 6:19:12 AM

" I think that this build could be reworked for the Templar class, and maybe for a different setup like the one of the auto-bomber |

" It's working thank you sir. Any advice for breaches too ? Should i clear the area with arc then when i will open the breach swap gems or just go arc for it too ? BTW I made 6L pledge of hands, should i use that version ? You can look my character for the wands i use. Last edited by billdoorstam35#2708 on Jan 9, 2017, 2:04:52 PM

" glad it helped :) I'm not playing this build in the last league, so I can't test it, anyway I think that the safest way to go is clear the area, keep the arc and be careful to position your character. Pop your anti-shock flask and the Vinktar, if you have a basalt flask use it too, then activate vaal haste and spam the arc, then use again your flasks and vaal haste when you can. Decoy totem can help against bosses and yellow tough ones, anyway try not to stay in the center of the breach if you don't have a safe way to escape with your flame dash. Even with my facebreaker slayer things can get dangerous if mobs become overwhelming, especially vs freezing ones and the ones who place obstacles. I don't have any experience with the staff version, your wands are pretty good, you could have more flat lightning damage and swap the three dragons for an helmet with life (extremely important) and resistances. Then a wand with flat lightning or cold damage will boost your dps. I've posted my old gear and some stats in the 4th post of this page: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1147951/page/262 if you want to have an idea. To be honest, I think that without mind over matter, this build can boxe easier the bosses, because with mana reserved you could find yourself without mana with just a few hits and can't escape or react... |

Why is empower used over added lightning damage? Isn't the 18-342 damage better than 2 levels of arc?

" the only reason this build uses empower is because an higher level of Arc adds another chain, allowing to clear much faster. Then, the Lightning coil it's based on armour and evasion, it's almost impossible to have 6 or 5 blue links unless you're extremely lucky spending a very lot of chromes on it (and you have to spend anyway a lot of chromes to get 4 blue links). the red socket also allows you to swap empower to less duration support and cast storm call faster when you swap for single target. anyway, this build works with a simple 6-link with life and resistances, you may buy one and get 5 blue links, unless you're dependant from atziri's acuity for the leech you can use controlled destruction too (it's a great damage boost). ideal links should be: arc-controlled destruction (or lightning penetration/cold penetration)-spell echo- empower-increased critical strikes-increased critical damage (I tested this one and it gave me like 11k dps more instead of cold penetration). last league I kept cast when damage + immortal call, we're too squishy without those gems imho. if you want to keep the actual setup with frost bomb to proc mastermind of discord, there should be a way to manage it like Enki said, link CWDT + immortal call + the 2 golems (removing minion life support and increased duration because we already have the endurance charges to make it last longer). other links could be decoy totem + minion resistance support + flame dash, frost bomb+increased duration + vaal haste. the other essential ones are of course the same. personally, for my playstyle, I tested the new setup and didn't like it so much (with my gear), if you want to keep mind over matter it's safer to use CWDT+ IC and have a very large mana pool with a level 3 or 4 enlighten support. Looking for advice on my build, mainly where I should change out gear for more damage. I'm guessing upgrade my weapons, and also I'm working on getting a 6 link chest, but that's a work in progress. I've got 60c on me, plus could probably trade other currency for another 30c.
I've got 4,250 hp, 1300 mana, 14k unbuffed arc dps, which is considerably less than I had last season running the same build, I'm not using facebreakers tho, after the nerf rom 90 to 45%, still worth using? Also, I've only done norm and cruel lab, I really need to attempt merc again, I did all 3 last season in the first attempt, this time cruel took me a few tries and I can't do merc, atm. https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/Trapsin/characters Last edited by Trapsin#1011 on Jan 12, 2017, 3:47:17 PM

" I used the legacy ones last league, were a huge dps boost. I think that if you have your resistances perfectly capped and good life rolls on your other pieces of gear, you should use the new facebreakers anyway. You're still at level 82, so there are more nodes to take yet, and once you hit level 90 you'll have something like 96 life more. I linked my stats at level 92 in the post linked above, had near 5000 life, you should try and reach at least 4800 to go for uber lab and highest tier maps. If you need help with merciless lab just pm me in game and I'll bring you there, maybe I can help you with uber lab too if the daily layout is good, anything for crit arc friends :) |

First, thanks a lot for the guide, I'm playing this since mid december on Standard and I'm having a lot of fun with it. I also played it on the same character 1 year ago on the temporary league of that time.
Here's my gear: As you can see it's quiet optimized. The clearspeed is godly and I manage to freeze almost everything. Maps are easy.. any map is cleared without any problem up to T16. The only problem are the boss fights. They require a lot of skill and mobility, mantaining the decoy totem up is key to survive a lot of fights and with some map mods I'm just oneshotted if I'm not careful enough. I tried to go eldritch battery + zealot's oath with some ES gear, life regen % and to sustain the high mana cost of arc.. but without good results and too much dps loss. I had around 3000 ES, 600 Mana and 5k life, but with the first few hits the ES pool was gone anyway and I didn't feel much difference in survivability. If anyone has some good ideas I can try them out. I have a good budget to spend on standard and am willing to try make this build work for T16 boss fights, shaper and atziri.
