I haven't checked 6l eva chest in std for a while. They were damn overpriced a few months ago.
It looks like a good deal to me.
The new one is really cool.

Hi guys, came back to game on std after few months and im thinking about giving another try to this build. Got plenty of ex collected (about 30-40 in all cur) and want to get a good bow. What do u think is better buy one or craft on my own with those resources? How much could it take to create 6l/370+ pdps bow? Or mby better question how much did it take you to make one?
Buy one.
Since we don't have the hybrid mod with Tora anymore, it's extremely hard to get ~over 330 pdps.

Harbinger bow base: 35-91
Tyrannical roll: 160% (and you'r lucky if you have one)
Tora avg flat: 16-29

pdps = (35+91+16+29) * (1+1.6+0.2) * 1.2 / 2 = 287. This is low. It will be a bit over 300 with attack speed from tora.

With granite flask recipe:
flat roll: 30-54
Tora %phys: 75
pdps = (35+91+16+29) * (1 + 0.75 + 0.2) * 1.2 / 2 = 200.

As you can see, if you really want good damage, you need to roll high flat and very high % physical or hybrid phys/accuracy.

With 30-40 ex being all my money,i wouldn't even try to 6link one.
You can try to buy a 6link and hope that in 20-30 ex you could get around 350 pdps or you can buy a crafted one for 40 ex and be done.
I bought this and don't regret it.

btw, with that budget, I'd just buy a cheap 6L armor, like skuadak one a few post above, and and a decent 6S/5L bow. Links are much cheaper on body.

Decided to start/resume an archer and since this guide hasn't been updated for almost 3 months, should I follow it? Or are there a few core changes that I need to be aware of?
You can follow the guide if you want to make the average archer. If you want a sensibly more tanky one, look at MortalKombat3 duelist archer (his profile is public). Tankiness comes at the cost of damage of course. But according to MK, he does enough damage.

Saranghaeyo_'s resource thread is also a very recommended read.
I would also say don't focus too heavily on unique items, it's a trap that can hamper your survivability. These items are not necessary to get (very) good damage. But if you chose this full rare route, you will need an excellent quiver and amulet with crit multi, and the rest of you jewelry must also be good on offensive side (diamond with flat phys, good accuracy rolls, etc.) The main benefit is you have sensibly more life, and capped resist can be easier to get.

edit: some clarifications.

Thanks!

So I have about 10ex to spend on a bow, have an Acuity/Maligaros, Rat's Nest and if I sold a few unique 6Ls I'd have about another 50ex to spend on gear (Shavs/Volls) or could I use them for anything.

I'd prefer to build up a mid/high geared char on the cheap, and hopefully reuse some of the aforementioned items just to test to see if I can tolerate the playstyle. I'll go all in if I exceed my predicted enjoyment!

Oh and I am for DPS over survivability within reason :D

So, does a particular build come to mind?

Get a bow like one of those: http://poe.trade/search/omariusitooric
As a first step I suggest you to build around tabula rasa. If it fits you playstyle, you could just switch to Voll's.
As you will also use Atziri's Acuity and probably rat's nest, you need a fuck ton of life of the rest of your gear. If it isn't enough just drop rat's nest for a nice rare with high eva, 90+ life and some good res. Two ex. I use:

Note that you can still reach 90+ crit chance with such a helm.

So:

belt: leather or rustic base, 90+ base life, two or three res, str if two res.
boots: rare, 25+ move speed, 80+ life, , two or three res.
quiver: crit implicit, 30+ crit multi, crit chance, 60+ life, leech welcomed.
amulet: crit multi, high life, res. Accuracy welcomed.
ring: whatever you still need. Ideally diamond rings. Accuracy welcomed.
jewels (2 probably): life & mana leech, mana on hit, life, dual res if needed. There's no need for damage, you'll have enough from tree.
helmet: rat's nest or rare with high life, 2 or 3 high res, accuracy if two res.
chest: start with tabula. If it's good, switch to Voll's but good luck to get the right colors (ggggrb, gggrrb, gggrbb are ok). Else just switch to a cheap 6L eva chest, or Daresso's Defiance.

tree: just follow the one in op. Get Master of the Arena, Heart of Oak and Golem's Blood for 3.6% life regen to easily sustain blood rage. You can't afford to use Blood Dance with the lack of res you'll have on most of your gear.

links:

AOE:
lightning arrow, gmp, chain, crit chance, wed, ideally ppad, else crit multi or added fire.
split arrow, chain, ppad, crit chance, added fire, wed or crit multi (faster attack or slower proj if 4G)
TS, gmp, same as split for the last 4 links

Single target:
Puncture or Frenzy, PPAD, Slower Proj, crit chance, crit multi.

Bandits: life, skill point, frenzy or power charge

I decided to come for the Darkshrine league :)

I've just updated large parts of the guide.

I had to remove most of my linked items though (forum bug, was holding me back from updating for a long time, no edits were accepted). Expect the linked items in the item section to be back in 24h.

I also got more pictures/material for the guide, I'll post it in a bit :)

Cheers and a HUGE thank you for everyone who's answering questions and being part of this awesome community.

(Man this thread is huge)
