Dueling or 1v1 vs a Friend?

I have yet to see a definitive answer about this by the community or by a DEV. Is there any possible way to duel a friend or to join a 1v1 pvp arena against a friend at this point? Have the DEVS mentioned this anywhere and if so would someone be able to link? Thanks!

At this point, the NPC dueling system seems the only way. An option to click and request a duel would be highly desirable. Or an option to create a PvP game, which could be displayed in a PvP board, just like the looking-for-group board is right now. That way you would be able to select certain criteria to a PvP game. Arena type, odds, score etc.
