[28] knockback in pvp

popular build in 28 pvp is a stun lock design around heavy strike multi strike and a fast foil.

eye of chayula doesn't help vs the stun from knock back. (unwavering stance as well)
block rate doesn't help vs the knock back stun.

its perma stun lock which cancels normal ways to escape, such as whirling blades or leap slam.

It needs to be balanced.

also you should not be able to perma stun anycharacter without -stun threshhold.. pretty much requires every character to run chayula or unwavering
I have been whining about this just yesterday... And now this thread comes up? Strange.

But... dont the build get Master of the arena and Fending node on passive tree? Fending increases knockback distance by 45 percent, and there are sword nodes just NeXT to it. Also the Unique legacy amulet with +2 melee range?

Shield charge seems to counter this build slightly, but its a shitty skill for the most part, and there is nothing you can really do against it... You can stand NeXT to a wall, but the enemy quickly learns to knock you back in a different angle than into the wall.

Basically... your character gets converted into a fucking ball for the enemy to play with all over the frikn map, untill the ball blows up. (Dies.)
and thats why u nigguhs shud start creating builds for 3v3s instead of 1v1 where every1 tries to go heavy strike so they're the strongest

I have recently switched to Heavy Strike on my templar, replacing glacial hammer. I did not do that for 1vs1/3vs3 reasons, but because its better overall. Im not using it for the knockback, but for the high damage. My guy does have ground slam for 3vs3, and it proves very efficient at removing minions, traps and similar stuffz that needs to smashed off the damn map. It has proven usefull at doing so in 3vs3. (Minesweeper support, I quess you could say.)

I mean... Most melee builds would go heavy strike? Or am I missing something? Glacial Hammer is a fun skill to use, but its just not quite as good in the long term.

(Note that I dont abuse the knockback mechanic at all... Well if I am, then I am not aware of it.)
I would say in HC this problem is not nearly as severe since we dont have duresso's salute ammy in existence. Master of arena does pose some threat but imo creates a triangle of counters, rock paper, scissors between ranger, mara, and duelist. I think the ammy not existing for HC solves a huge problem. If people are using fend on u try attacking in place and spamming on them so they need to come to u instead of u constantly running into them, althought if they have more range than you...youre still screwed. If they attack in the same place and wait for u to come to them, bear trap the hell out of them and come out of a different angle.

only reason why heavy strike is better is mainly cuz of the knockback, but the phy scaling as well

easy to cap on cold res to 75 and dispel frozen whereas most ppl dont have high sustainable armour after granite flasks use

if u really want to be special and shine out in the crowd for a good melee build, look into skills like double strike and whatnot and have 1-2 flasks w/ knockback mdos to counter heavy strikers

also, if u get geared well enuf and have good hp/mana sustain, u can just use spells like lighting strike or spectral throw w/ faster proejctiles and use whirlin blades/leap slam as a kiting method

almost every heavy strike user relies on flicker, so having that long range + kiting ability already is good enuf
