Could currency used in void league races transfer to normal leagues?

So you say Void leagues were created so that players didn't have to choose between spending their currency to help win, or save it for when the leagues merged at the end.

I like to farm, but I also want to play some races for fun. My time with the game is quite limited and I don't expect to win any events, but it would be nice if I find some valuable currency in a Descent race that I get to keep it. I get about 1 hour a day to play so it's a choice between progressing on my main characters or having fun for an hour and having nothing to show at the end.

my suggestion is at the end of a race, give the player a list of all the items they picked off the ground during the race (regardless of whether they consumed them or not) and let them take 2-4 of them back to standard/hardcore/whatever.

The choice is between progressing on your main character and having fun? You not having fun with the regular game?
You get to keep what you find in 90% of the races, why make an issue of the other 10%?
You can't keep descent currency anyway as you're guaranteed it from chest drops.
