question on this lvl 28 pvp staff

has an ilvl of 39, which means that it can be a 5 socket or 5 link, wondering if I do manage to get 5 socket and a 5 link, will the level requirement of 28 stay the same? |

Stay same. I'm not sure what staff builds are good right now. but it's a solid item.

I really feel like dual phys on staff with crit is the most desirable. If it were to be any other damage on the staff it would be increased cold or weapon elemental to possibly create synergism with glacial hammer. 2 Handers are getting a buff in 1.0 I believe making 2 handers in general more useful especially with elemental damage modifiers.

I would not use Glacial Hammer over Heavy Strike if the staff does not have crit.

There is nothing about your staff that encourages you to use Glacial Hammer. Maybe ur staff encourages lightning strike... but Again no crit on it. Crit staff is extremely inconsistent in low level pvp, and as the Resolute Technique keystone says: Great Tacticians learn that consistency often trumps potential. Alltho sometimes... if you get a really high rolled dmg crit with staff... it will one shot just about anything and deal like 6000-8000 dmg in one hit if they are cursed and you have crit multiply gem... but it doesnt really happen often enough to be worth it imo. |
