another problem with racing and balance
Which of these two is more DPS for anything but cleave? The answer is the jade chopper. Makes sense to me. Of course if you found the equivalent to that woodsplitter in a 1h as a cleaver your DPS goes from xyz to xyz ^ 2. "When I close my eyes, I see this thing, a sign, I see this name in bright blue neon lights with a purple outline. And this name is so bright and so sharp that the sign - it just blows up because the name is so powerful... It says, "Diamond Supporter."

" Almost everything in your post is wrong. 1) That Woodsplitter has higher DPS for everything, not just cleave Chopper 51.4 physical DPS 2.7 elemental DPS 54.1 total DPS Woodsplitter 49.1 physical DPS 28.8 elemental DPS 77.9 total DPS 2) The damage relationship is not exponential it is multiplicative (xyz^2 should be 2*xyz), and even then only for the elemental damage. 3) There are already 2 other active topics on cleave. One of them by you, even. We get it, you have a vendetta against cleave. |

He has a point. The same issue comes up with rangers when comparing short/long bows- the shortbow almost always wins. Its a problem when your supposed weapon upgrades arent actually upgrades.

" pretty sure he is taking into consideration that you grab alot phydmg nodes which the jade chopper scales better with. im guessing its possible to oneshot most mobs in a2 with the jade chopper but not with the woodsplitter, making it way better. Last edited by janimauk on Oct 2, 2013, 4:06:20 AM

Well, honestly, the two weapons are almost equal in physical dps, so it is not the physical damage nodes that make the difference (only a small difference anyway).
I would guess that Morse is referring to armor mechanics and the fact that Leap Slam's attack speed (and move speed) does not depend on the base weapon's attack speed. However, on that note, the splitter is slightly faster. Still, as was mentioned above, the chopper will oneshot more mobs than the splitter. Edit: The phys damage nodes will obviously amplify these effects. Last edited by Hassefar60 on Oct 2, 2013, 12:50:13 PM
