(Yet another) request to PLEASE, for the love of everything remotely astral, fix your optimization.

I honestly struggle to put it into polite words. Put into polite words how much of a mess PoE1 has become.
The amount of errors boggles my mind. I cannot play with anyone on a different realm because the moment I take one step, my latency just immediately jumps to 22k+ without kicking me out. The amount of issues and reports I've seen of people with way better hardware than me (laptop w/ rtx 4070) is mindblowing. I can't even begin to fathom how bad it is for KB wanders or Sparkers, or when you maximum juice content (which I don't do because I'm afraid my laptop might explode). Even when I play solo, the moment I change instances twice or thrice, the game begins to stutter and lag immediastely, which also makes mapping a drag. Even changing realms does not address this issue. No, it does the opposite and makes the latency worse. MUCH worse. PoE 2 was in my opinion, a mistake, and I will stand by this claim, but this isn't about me venting about that game. This is a heartfelt plea for whoever is responsible for PoE1 to, excuse my french, get off their lazy bums and start to address and work on fixing these problems. I love PoE 1. I wouldn't still play the game if I didn't. But these things need to be addressed sooner than later. I don't want PoE 1 to shut down as an, excuse my french, abhorrent mess of bugs, issues and beyond terrible optimization, I want it to (if ever) shut down as a game I have great memories with. So please. Pull everyone you have together, and give them a pep talk. Fix our experience. For your reputation. (I am aware that even community managers barely read or respond to these, but what the hell, I'm not staying silent any longer, I need to say this.) Last bumped on Jun 3, 2026, 6:30:08 PM

"Continued to incrementally improve graphics and sounds"
translates to: "Your performance will be worse this patch, possibly a lot worse" For all the hate that Blizzard gets in these forums, D3, D4, etc. are in a different universe of good engine optimization relative to both POE1 and POE2. *Looks at 50 gig shader folder and jet turbine PC noises* |

not exactly complaining about optimization but i really would appreciate it if ggg let us turn up the brightness.

" Its pretty funny, I have no clue why the nvidia shader folder went to 18 GB because of this one game, meanwhile other games never make it this big. Plus PoE also has its own seperate shader folder it generates somewhere else, like wtf is this spaghetti code programming lmao Would love for this game to be optimized and not be so big in file size, but apparently the priority is instead to "improve the graphics". Lifelong NEET, loud and proud about it. Found a way to hide any comment on the forums, my experience with using them is instantly 1000x better lemao Last edited by Toforto#2372 on Jun 2, 2026, 8:40:24 PM

" Correct. The focus remains on improving visuals to maintain the game’s appeal. That naturally increases hardware demands, and older systems will start to struggle, often being mistaken for poor optimization, when in reality it is simply the machine no longer being suited to the task it is being asked to handle. Whether some players like it or not, GGG follows the standard path of technical progression, where improving games naturally makes them more power demanding, not less. I have to agree here.
After running low end PCs for years, I got to a point that PoE couldn't run on my PC. About 3 years ago, I bit the bullet, and bought a relatively high end PC (for me). Like, 2 grand plus invested into my PC. At the time, I could run everything on high end settings. Pegging it out to max settings for everything would bog it down. But everything I wanted on High, could handle High. Things I didn't care about, I set to Medium. After several leagues of graphical updates, I HAVE to have everything on the lowest specs, or my computer is gonna achieve liftoff. Once things load, they're pretty okay. But every few maps things will just straight up drop to 120p fuzz graphics and 1 frame per second, for 5-30 seconds, and I have to pray that I don't die. I'm with the "keep some potato settings" crowd. I don't care about 240fps in 4k. I just want smooth, steady play. Last edited by SatosPoE#4102 on Jun 3, 2026, 6:31:16 PM
