Desktop standalone client not installing

I downloaded the Windows standalone launcher from https://pathofexile2.com/download. During setup, it displays the installation location as (C:\Program Files (x86)\Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exile 2 - poe2_production)
After a very quick setup process, it states "Installation Successfully Completed," but the files and folders do not actually exist, and the launcher is nowhere to be found.
How can I get the standalone client to install properly?
