POE2 atlas tree is something that i've always wanted in poe 1
|
poe2's atlas tree is more of what i want.
highlights. 1. each specific league mechanic has its own minitree. we earn more points to customize our experience on that league mechanic by achieving things related to the league. 2. specific trees with their own specific points mean i dont need to keep respeccing whenever i want to run a specific league. 3. the general atlas tree still exists which allows players to customize more general aspects of their game play and requires player to complete atlas objectives. benefits: 1. you are ALWAYS rewarded for running the mechanic whenever you encounter it during mapping. currently in poe1, whenever i encounter ritual encounter without speccing into ritual i feel like i cannot reroll the rewards. the points i get would be much lesser since i didnt spec into it. i would also have fomo, if i ever get a mirror reward, theres a chance i wouldnt have enough point to even defer the mirror. thats a pure feelsbad moment. to avoid it i just block rituals from ever appearing. then if i get a breach encounter, it can feel slow when the portal opens slowly. i feel like the experience running all these encounters are so miserably pathetic that i rather just block all of them if i m not specced into them. 2. since each specific league mechanic has it's own tree, respeccing is much more easier. 3 atlas layouts would be sufficient for most players. you dont need a bomb of orbs to keep resetting your tree. 3. minimal wastage due to chance. if you specced into the passive that gave the chance for abyss jewels to drop corrupted. but you ran 3 maps and never encountered a single abyss. all you did was waste atlas points. its all or nothing. either you fully spec into a league mechanic or not. arguably some league mechanics dont require going all in, but whenever you put any points at all into a league mechanic that doesnt appear in a map, all those points are wasted. if poe2 atlas tree is implemented, i wouldnt need to keep respeccing just to fully enjoy maven/exarch/eater. i wouldnt need to eat some orbs to fully complete any "influenced monster pack size" nodes such as the ones for synthesis maps. putting points into them is a total waste during normal mapping yet we're forced to pick a few as we need to get them to get the notable passives. on the flipside, if you're running 50 synthesis maps back to back, its a no brainer to fully spec into those nodes. poe1 atlas tree is awesome. but can be vastly improved. Yeah I'd prefer a tree that I just fully fill out instead of constantly respeccing between 3 trees.
That's why I also loved Idols from Phrecia a lot, they felt like that. Just a set of items you gather and then you get perma-bonuses every map. Lifelong NEET, loud and proud about it.
Found a way to hide any comment on the forums, my experience with using them is instantly 1000x better lemao |

Rare case of people wanting PoE2 tech in PoE1 without instantly getting upset about it. Lol
I don't quite think the PoE2 Atlas tree would really work in PoE1. PoE1 already has its own powerful Atlas tree with tons of good nodes and customization. If we were to get something closer to the PoE2 version, you could kinda bet it would come with massive adjustments due to the lower node count, probably resulting in far less map juice than what we can already get now. This wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing considering how overgenerous the game has become, and dialing shit down a bit is probably needed at some point, but everyone already knows the kind of backlash that would leave on a large part of the community. PoE1 definitely needs a fresh endgame system because the Atlas tree has become pretty stale by now, but I don't quite think PoE2's tree would be the play. In old GGG fashion it would only take away a lot of the good things we currently have and kinda leave the endgame in a worse state overall. Kinda just a hard pass for the PoE2 tree in PoE1. A new system however, yes please. Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

" i agree, we get tons of atlas passive points in poe1 compared to poe2 which lets ggg spread the bonuses into smaller chunks. the easy solution is to simply consolidate the bonuses into a more meaningful ones. for example harvest's bumper crop (50% chance sacred groves contains an additional harvest) is preceeded by 3 smaller nodes each granting +3% increased quantity of life force dropped. in the league specific tree those 3 nodes could be consolidated into a single +9% increased quantity of life force dropped. The problem with PoE2 atlas tree, unless it changes in the upcoming league, is that you can't fully spec into the league passives. That's the one thing PoE1 has going better.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! The others found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on juice. I am not so foolish. |

" hmmm yeah thats a solid issue, any modifiers like for example harvest's crop rotation would cost valuable league specific points that could have gone into juicing up harvest content more. an option becomes not an option if the cost is too high. [Removed by Support]
