Path of Exile should add a Microphone Party Feature to Social Tab!

This will be the best game changer ever!

Add optional party voice chat to the Social tab with push-to-talk, mute, block, report, volume controls, and friends/guild-only options, so players can coordinate better without forcing anyone into voice.

Ethical proof: why it helps:

A built-in microphone party feature could help the Path of Exile community, especially for party coordination, console players, new players, guilds, boss carries, trade parties, and future PoE/PoE2 social growth.

But the ethical proof has to be balanced: it helps only if it is designed with strong safety controls.

Your post is real and currently appears in the official Feedback and Suggestions (Path of Exile 1) area; the forum index also shows your thread as the latest post in that category.

Ethical proof: why it helps

1. Faster teamwork
PoE can require quick coordination: maps, boss phases, trading, guild events, carries, party farming, and teaching new players. A voice option reduces the need to stop and type during gameplay. This exact argument has existed in PoE community feedback since at least 2011, where a player said voice chat helps friends play together without stopping to type.

2. Better accessibility
Voice chat can help players who struggle with typing quickly, are on console, have disabilities, or are learning the game. For many players, speaking is easier than navigating chat while fighting.

3. Stronger community bonds
Path of Exile already has huge forum/community areas: guilds, communities, trade, gameplay help, showcases, and feedback sections. The official forum has dedicated community/guild spaces and large activity across categories, which shows PoE is not only a solo game but a long-term social ecosystem.

4. Future-proofing
As PoE and PoE2 grow across PC and console, built-in party voice could reduce dependence on third-party apps. That matters because not every player wants to use Discord, external accounts, or out-of-game tools just to talk to a party.

It should be:

Opt-in party voice only.
Default off. Player chooses to join.

Push-to-talk by default.
Prevents accidental microphone use.

Mute, block, report, and volume controls.
Every player should instantly control their experience.

Party-leader toggle.
Party leader can enable/disable voice for that group.

Friends/guild-only option.
Players can restrict voice to trusted people.

Clear safety policy.
Voice abuse should be reportable under the same community standards as text abuse.

Best ethical conclusion: Optional, safety-controlled party voice increases communication speed and accessibility while preserving player choice.

Ethical feature design

This feature should be optional and safety-first:

Party voice chat should be opt-in, not forced.
Push-to-talk should be the default.
Players should have mute, block, report, and volume controls.
Party leaders should be able to enable or disable voice for the party.
Friends-only or guild-only voice options would help prevent abuse.

A microphone party feature should be optional, safe, and player-controlled.

Suggested design:

Opt-in party voice chat
Push-to-talk by default
Mute, block, report, and volume controls
Friends-only / guild-only voice options
Party leader toggle to enable or disable voice
Clear moderation rules for voice abuse

Why this helps:
It would improve boss coordination, party mapping, trading, teaching new players, guild events, and console gameplay. It would also reduce the need for third-party apps while keeping player choice and safety protected.
