Ground Slam applying Mark but not generating Frenzy charges
|
StunningPriceOfLiberty has been using Earthshatter of Fragility but I decided to test Ground Slam to see if killing Bosses was faster that way (since I can swap out Less Duration for Maim).
I decided to test on a T14 Wasteland Boss and noticed that I was not generating any Frenzy charges over a very long battle despite a 7% chance to gain a Frenzy charge per hit. The Mark appeared to be applied. I was up close and personal so I should have been hitting (of course, the Mark wouldn't have been applied if I wasn't hitting) and he was taking damage. None of the map affixes should have interfered with curses or charge generation. There were no other monsters nearby to steal them from as they were generated. I have nothing that consumes Frenzy charges. My Endurance charges were being refreshed but that might have been because he was hitting me. I haven't tested it a second time since Earthshatter of Fragility feels better and kill speed on A10 Avarius was about the same. Last bumped on May 10, 2026, 11:34:06 AM

Was the boss standing on consecrated ground? Wiki says Brittle Emperor can spawn it and that applies 50% reduced curse effect. Taking your 7% down to 3.5% chance to generate frenzy charge, unsure if that rounds or not. Depending on how often you hit, I could see low rolling and needing 100+ hits to see first frenzy charge.

Hmm, that might be it. He was standing on Consecrated Ground and Ground Slam only counts as a single hit unlike the swing and timed explosions of Earthshatter of Fragility.
After 100 hits with a 3% chance of gaining a charge (or 97% chance of not gaining a charge), there's about a 4.8% chance of not having gained a single charge. |
