Appreciation and New Idea

Dear GGG, I really love PoE1, and the other day I decided to create a new character and noticed the choice of leagues the game offers. There was nothing strange there, it's just that the "hardcore" league icon stuck in my head. After a while, I began to think about the purpose of this mode in a game where "grinding" is the main and most beloved activity of players, and in this type of game, a "hardcore" mode makes absolutely no sense. But that's okay, some people like it, some don't; it's your job to suggest it, I understand perfectly well. And I don't think a "hardcore" mode is bad, so I started thinking. I started thinking about what other games have a hardcore mode, and Minecraft came to mind, and I began comparing them. The main difference is that Minecraft has an ending, while PoE does not. And what I especially noticed is that the entire gameplay of Minecraft from the beginning to killing the dragon is very reminiscent of the main story campaign of the game with the killing of Kitava. So here's the idea I've been thinking about: a new league, players will still have a choice of difficulty, but hardcore mode only lasts until the end of the acts and the defeat of Kitava. Then, if a player manages to complete all 10 acts without dying (which is quite challenging for most less experienced players at the beginning of the league), hardcore mode ends for them and they receive a certain reward (this could be a certain rare currency, a unique or rare, fairly powerful item (random), or some new item from the new mechanics you're adding in the new league). It will make perfect sense, and also players won't be able to abuse it because it's quite long, the reward won't be too big to make a profit from it, and it won't be that easy because it will be a completely different experience, in which you won't just AFK through all the acts in order to bring your next new character onto the maps, but it will be like a whole test in which you need to focus and try not to die, otherwise you won't start all over again. You can still have full hardcore mode as well. So yeah thats the row idea, i don’t expect nothing put it will be cool if you even read this massage, i would be so happy. Thank you again for this beautiful game, its saves me in my life.

i like how you appreciate the game and make a post with an idea and elaborate on it.

you have passion i appreciate that too.

for most players, the campaign is just the tutorial mode. it might seem daunting to you but for more experienced players, it really is just a rite of passage.

me and my friends are not too good at the game but on league launch, if we're rushing, we can complete the campaign within 1-3 days depending on how hard we go at the game.

even better players play gauntlet challenges where they utilize every single tool they have to complete the campaign but with deadly mods that make the monsters faser/hit harder and get tougher all while playing in hardcore. the fastest that i know is under 3 hours.

non gauntlet runs could be even faster.

you're new to the game, and thats cool. you dont understand why people play hardcore either. thats cool too. hardcore is not meant for everyone but its there for people who enjoy it. those who enjoy hardcore, do not need further motivation to play hardcore. in fact, i know some friends how exclusively play hardcore. to them, playing non-hardcore characters have no meaning. death is trivialized. you die and just respawn. the incentive to stay alive is not there.

i m not a hardcore enjoyer. in fact i resent all attempts ggg has in forcing me to play "single try" encounters where if i fail/die once, the entire encounter ends in failure with no do overs. its simply not for me.

i dont think hardcore is not for you well at least not yet. who knows, one day you might enjoy hard core.

enjoy the game! i m pretty sure the devs read your post. i'm "proud" to say ggg implemented many things or at least iterations of stuff i've asked for. whether they listened to me or whether by coincidence, i m pretty happy seeing where POE is nowadays.
