need to encourage people to play standard

people often complain standard prices are rip offs. the reason is because it's not well supplied due to lack of players. the only time large number of high level farmers play standard is between the leagues.

please mods can u do something and get more pro farmers to play standard, to help fix the standard economy a bit? i play both and i have a painful time on standard, mirage prices are quite fair. i realized from my experience the more players in a league, the more fair prices are. and standard economy is extremely unhealthy. having a longer delay between leagues would definitely help, during that time high level farmers can supply the standard economy for a bit.

There is very little that can realistically be done to fix the current Standard economy. The market is heavily oversaturated with items, while genuine demand has largely stagnated. Even adding more players would not solve the issue, since those players already have everything they want and would have little incentive to engage with an already bloated item pool. Instead, increased participation would only add to the surplus and make the oversupply problem worse.

At this point, the only meaningful intervention would be a hard reset of Standard on a regular basis, perhaps once a year, to clear accumulated excess and restore scarcity and value. However even that feels increasingly pointless, as Standard is basically dead.

Agreed they need to get rid of leagues and just implement it into standard.

i meant the standard economy is extremely undersupplied due to lack of farmers, and even casual players. scarab prices are a good indication of this. u got scarabs worth 10, 20x more on standard than mirage. there are other things too.

the more players there are, the healthier the economy. i started playing in merc league so im not some new player talking BS, this is my observation every league. healthiest economy require high level farmers + mid level farmers + casual players. otherwise greedy malicious price gouging scalpers destroy the economy, like on standard.

just a longer delay between leagues can do a lot i believe, during that time many farmers must play in standard and will generate plenty of supply.

eeeehhh you know, this mode exists and it's called challenge league. Resets every 4 months USUALLY. We had one league that ran for a year, it was Settlers league.

Standard league's selling point is that it's permanent and eternal. You have access to everything. Legacy items no longer obtainable etc.

You're proposing what is basically another challenge league, but on a longer cadence.

Cause your currency’s basically worthless there, so the small player base pushes toward higher prices. Standard’s flooded with Divine Orbs and Chaos Orbs, Mirros, and whatnot, so everything’s inflated by default, and stuff like Scarabs ends up costing way more than in temp leagues.

Correct, the Eternal Realm. In a game so heavily driven by its economy, having no reset inevitably comes with trade offs. A mode that already has a dwindling player base only struggles more as each league feeds additional items into it. You cannot really have both, a healthy market and a permanent, ever accumulating server tend to work against each other. Once supply overtakes demand, things start to slide, and after years of accumulation there is barely any real demand left in Standard.

At best, you get brief spikes of interest tied to whatever the latest power creep from a temporary league is when it gets migrated over. People chase the new overtuned items or mechanics for a while, but once those are acquired, demand quietly fades again and does not translate into broader interest across the rest of the market. Each new league just dumps more into an already bloated economy, while meaningful demand keeps shrinking.

At that point, it is the end of the road, and Standard has effectively been there for years.

that is so wrong. HC has a very healthy economy. healthy economy means you can sell well rolled rares for more than 1c etc not everythign is cheap so you can mass buy it and no brain farm your juiced maps.

Also, even if the mods would dedicate all their work time to advertise standard it would have close to zero impact. POE's success relies solely on the league system. I don't blame anyone for wanting to have the ultimate super geared character in stadnard, but it is not how this game can sustain a relevant player base and soem degree of popularity.
