How to remove empty Map Stash tabs that won't disappear by themselves

Hi,

After months of having this empty Map Stash Tab lingering around, and getting no clear solution from either the forums or support, I finally figured out how to make it disappear. I thought I'd share this in case anyone else runs into the same issue.

In short: the stash tab may be empty, but if any tabs or subtabs are still set to Public (shown with the "pile of gold coins" icon), then the tab will NOT disappear.

Procedure:
1) Set the stash tab to Public.
2) For every tab and subtab showing the "pile of gold coins" icon, change that specific tab/subtab to Private.
3) By the end of step 2, there should be no gold coin icons left on any tab or subtab.

Then exit to the character selection screen and log back into your character.

Et voilà! The stash tab should now be gone!
