Wish we could lock items (not hinekoras lock or beastlock)

So if you equip an item, lock it- you cant unequip until you unlock the socket

Then be able to lock items so they cant be orbed, dropped to destroy or sold to npc

I used my magic of paint to make this https://imgur.com/a/oEPJRW1

Yep, basically the same as the "Favorite items in inventory" mechanic from Terraria. Would be nice to not accidentally unequip gear in a map/boss or put stuff in stash when you don't want to lol

This feature would pair nicely with something similar to "quick-stack all" or "deposit all" button in the inventory.

yeah accidentically selling or unequipping an item has many times caused to want to quit, ive heard stories of others quitting midleague due accidentical clicks
If a completely new player somehow manages to unequip an item by accident, that is an understandable one off mistake while learning the interface. When a long time, experienced player ends up “accedentially” unequipping and even selling equipped gear, it naturally invites a closer look at how that situation came to pass.

This is the same pattern as players effectively scamming themselves in trade scenarios by clicking widely without reading what is on screen. At that point, the issue is not missing safeguards, but how the system is being used. You cannot realistically make systems completely fail safe when they already prevent normal accidental actions, so if something still happens, it comes down to awareness of what is being done.

Big -1 on spending development time on extra layers of protection here.
There are more important areas where that effort actually matters.

It is already effectively impossible to “accedentially” unequip an item and then misplace it into a vendor or stash without clear deliberate input. Situations like that usually come from excessive rapid clicking or automation such as auto clickers or scripts, which are not allowed to begin with, not from normal interaction.

You do not just “accedentially” unequip something like a Mageblood or any other clearly recognizable, standout piece of gear among random loot, toss it into a vendor or stash, click again without thinking, and carry on like nothing happened.

Tierdness is a factor to make faults and if you combine that with a person thats restless problably adhd and things are going slow, you can continue to click when you forgot that you opened bag.

it does happen
i dont need it,but since its optional it should fine to add it to the game.

in worst case it would do nothing with the upside of helping some players

Wouldn’t the simplest fix be to just go to bed if you’re tired and restless, instead of staying at the computer? Just a thought lol

Also there’s already a warning when you try to vendor or trade items with gems.
If someone somehow unequips something by mistake, and then also vendors it by the same random mistake and confirms it anyway, that’s really on them, you’ve got to pay attention to what you’re doing.

Terraria needs it because of its hotbar and auto deposit system, you don’t want your tools or utility items getting auto dumped into nearby chests after a mining trip, or anytime items are constantly being moved around.

Poe doesn’t really have that issue, equipped gear sits in its own slots and is essentially already locked in place, since it never gets moved, sold, or affected unless you manually interact with it.
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.
