Networking Issues. Packets get received after several retries on some realms.

I'm receiving weird ping spikes on some POE realms no matter the server I choose.

What's happening: I enter the server, everything goes smoothly, I play some maps, no ping spikes at all, roughly 70% of the time I play with no issues, but occasionally (30% of the time) I start maps on insanely laggy realms, where my ping rises up to 40k. The thing is it's hardly a realm issue cause my friends enter the same realms with me without any issues, I'm the only one lagging.

Wireshark analysis shows that the laggy realms send back multiple ACKs with the same acknowledgement numbers stating that the packets were received out of order or miss data.

I've also checked if it's a 6112 port issue that POE servers use, so I contacted my provider with this question for him to later confirm that there is no connection issues with the port and that retranslation goes successfully, but the laggy realm servers receive packets only after several retries.

Tried tracing the laggy server ip's via WinMTR, but I don't think it shows anything useful: https://pastebin.com/Ck6sDxRe

What's the issue here and how do I resolve it?

i keep crashing aswell, no problem with any internet connection on my end. i tried diffrent EU server connections aswell.
I'm seeing similar odd behavior where I sometimes get rolling minor lag spikes (go from 25ms to 200 for a split second, according to the in-game display), potentially for an hour or more. Then other times I'll go hours with perfect performance. At one point I was even playing with a friend on the same network (using a different PC from my normal one), and I got the same lag spikes there too while they didn't. In rare cases this lag spike will hit multiple seconds or even disconnect me. It's been happening for a couple weeks now, off and on.

The internet shows no issues at least out as far as my ISP, and I see these issues on multiple realms (I tried connecting to different realms that were hundreds of miles apart but no dice, had the same issue, and I did confirm the realm in the upper-right of my screen.)

I also see this issue in both PoE1 and PoE2. But I do not have issues in any other game or service.

It's honestly driving me kinda insane at this point as I keep eliminating new possibilities as to what could be causing it, but it's not going away.
It's likely not the game's fault but something on your end.

Here's what you should try first:

1) Update drivers, and run windows update if using MSFT
2) If you're at home and using a home router, login and check for firmware updates
3) If you're using WiFi, switch to ethernet - at least for temporarily for troubleshooting
4) If none of these work, bypass your router and connect directly to modem or gateway

Try these before moving forward.

Tried all of this, nothing worked. This also shouldn't be the issue on my end since most of the realms run smoothly for me. If it was then all of the realms should've ping spiked me. But it only occurs on certain realms: For example, if I start a map on a laggy realm and connect to it - it causes massive ping spikes, but if I teleport back to my hideout, the lags disappear, they also disappear if I enter mirage on the laggy map, since mirages start on different servers. So the issue here is that only some servers are laggy for me.
